24.01.2022 This. This. This. Everything about this. I cannot reiterate the importance of looking after the mother as much as the baby. Mental health is just so important a...nd these days PND & Anxiety is through the roof. Are we as mothers not supported enough from the wider community? Is our current financial state forcing us for forfeit our mat leave to return to the work force much sooner then we would like & recommend? Are we comparing ourselves far too much to the mother next to us? Fuk, being a mum is so hectic. Its challenging. Its exhausting. Its bitter sweet & it is beautiful but dear god it is hard. Today - call your mum friends. Dont ask about the baby straight up ask about them first. Offer them something. A massage .. a cooked meal. A baby sit while they step out for halfa. Anything. Can you imagine the pressure Meghan is under? I just want to cuddle her and tell her everything will be alright. I may not have ever had PND but anxiety is just as suffocating.. tell your mumma friends below just how much you are there for them x @itvnews cannot wait to watch this full interview See more
24.01.2022 Birth story love Hi Sarah, Ive been meaning to send this to you for some time now. I wanted to thank you for our private Hypnobirthing session. I had heard amazing things about Hypnobirthing and when we fell pregnant with our second bub I knew it was something I wanted to try. ... Heres our story: Our estimated due date was 5/11, however unlike my first pregnancy I wasnt focusing too much on the due date. Bub would come when it was ready and hopefully without any intervention. Around 7pm 9/11 my Dr phoned to check how everything was going and as much as they knew I wasnt wanting to be induced we needed to book in a date. Ironically as we were speaking my waters broke. We went to the hospital to be checked and as I wasnt in any pain we were sent home to hopefully go in to spontaneous labour. If not our induction was booked the following morning to prevent possible infection. When we got home I started to feel nervous and was putting pressure on myself wanting labour to progress. But then I stopped, gathered my thoughts and used the techniques you taught to relax. I went to bed listening to the hypnobirthing tracks and surprisingly got some sleep. I woke around 5am with a welcomed small contraction. An hour later the contractIons were frequent and although I hadnt been labouring for long I knew it was time to go to the hospital. When we arrived I was fully dilated and it was time to deliver our baby. The room was calm, I was in complete control and I breathed through the contractions. I put complete trust in my body and 50 minutes later Paddy and I welcome our healthy baby girl in to the world. Jordie Mae Ryan, Born 10/11/19, Weighing 4145g From the first contraction to when Jordie arrived was 2.5 hours. Im always so proud to tell Jorides birth story and I give credit to you and hypnobirthing. Heres a picture of our gorgeous girl. Thanks again X #hypnobirthing #love #birthstory #positivebirth #baby #newborn #tamworth #hypnobirthingtamworth #birth #pregnant #mum #dad #hypnobirthingaustralia #love
23.01.2022 What a beautiful family and how special to have this for baby Sunny to watch in years to come Super special for all and I am so proud of mum and dad! Hypnobirthing stars
22.01.2022 Birth Story Second baby and first hypnobub. In the 12hours before my birth I had a massive burst of energy and knew I was going in to labor. I went about my day organising my son, packing bags to hit the 3 hour road trip to the hospital I was birthing at. I didnt want to tell anyone when I was in labor and conveniently I had a clinic appointment on Thursday morning so leaving town on Wednesday afternoon was not out of the ordinary! When we got to Tamworth, my partner an...d I decided to book a motel so I could have a spa bath - where I sat in the warm water listening to my Hypnobirth Australia affirmations and meditations. I went to bed as normal around 9:30pm and was woken at 12:50am with a bit of pain. I thought oh here we go. So pulled out the contraction timer and to my surprise they were very consistent 3-5minutes apart lasting 45sec-1minute. I was straight into my deep breathing through each surge and decided at 2-3minutes apart - 2:45am that wed better go to the hospital, only to find I was already 5cm when we got there. Unfortunately there were lots of babies and no birth suite readily available when we arrived so we were in an examination room for about an hour. Not what Id planned but I just rolled with it and fired up my affirmations and calm playlist. When we got to the birth suite somewhere between 3:30-4am I went straight to the bathroom turned on the shower, sat on a ball and slumped over a chair listening to country music! Not what I initially intended to be listening to but at the time decided I needed something a bit more upbeat then my hypno-playlist. I stayed in the shower until 5ish when my body told me it was time to get out and get comfy I leaned over the back of the bed where I though I would be comfortable to bear down when the time came. My posterior little babe, however made that position not very effective. I was ready to give up. My partner and midwife got in my ear to get me back to controlling my breathing and telling me my body was doing everything right and it wouldnt be long before Id get to cuddle my baby! I knew I needed to change positions which was encouraged by my midwife, with the help of my partner I moved to my side, within 15minutes I was holding my baby girl! #hypnobirthing #baby #birthstory #birth #mother #father #hypnobub #love #daughter #support #positivebirthprogram #positivebirth

17.01.2022 H Y P N O B U B What a beautiful story and a beautiful hypnobub Hi Sarah. ... Bit of a late reply, though i just wanted to thank you and let you know you were an influence into making my second birth experience exactly what i wanted. I felt so empowered to be able to speak up and tell everyone what i wanted. I started having pains and surges 2 days prior, though they were stop starting, I was distracted and couldn't focus with my 2yr old in my face, as soon as I rang my midwife to say I was tired I wanted to be checked and I left for the hospital labour had well.and truly kicked into gear. I had a lovely float in the bath for about 3hours mixed with showers, no pain relief at this stage. Needed help to get my waters to break, than jumped on the gas, surges came thick fast and powerful then but i continued to do my deep breathing and was able to refocus myself. My husband and mother were also great with helping with the positive words. My midwife was amazing and was able to make sure all my wishes were met. After 40 short minutes and about 3 good pushes (the body was just naturally telling me when to do things) my beautiful little boy Colby Mark had arrived on the 18/10/19. Healthy 6pd 8. My husband was fortunate enough that our midwife let him deliver Colby which was an absolutely beautiful experience for us all. So many thanks again for wonderful techniques and encouragement to be my own advocate. It was truely a magical experience that i cant wipe the smile off my face. Thanks. #hypnobirthing #baby #hypnobirthingtamworth #newborn #birth #labour #mother #father #family #tamworth #positivebirth

11.01.2022 It's birth trauma awareness week. According to the stats, in Australia 1 in 3 women experience birth trauma of some kind. This was before Covid, in the absence... of any pandemic. And these are the acknowledged/reported cases. It's ok to not be ok with how your birth unfolded. Even if, at the end of the day, you have a healthy baby, don't be afraid to talk about birth trauma. If you were made to feel afraid, unheard, unseen, if you were coerced, had your rights taken from you, were told you 'had' to do something or 'weren't allowed' to do something, or in any way experienced some form of trauma, it's legitimate to feel angry about that, it's legitimate to acknowledge it, to talk about it, to share it, to question it and to heal from it. #birthtrauma #birthtraumaawarenessweek2020 #birthtraumaawareness #childbirth #birth #hygieiahealthltd #oktonotbeok #challengeit #healfromit
11.01.2022 | CLARY SAGE ESSENTIAL OIL | . Its thats time people today Im 37 weeks, holy cow where did the last nine months go. So here I am getting my body ready for la...bour I thought Id share some information about Clary Sage from the beautiful @balancewithnature . Clary Sage is a plant native to Italy, Syria and Southern France and grows in dry soil. The essential oil is distilled from the flowers and flowering tips. . It is recommended that Clary Sage only be used from 37 weeks onwards. It may be used to induce labour if the body is ready to go into labour. It may stimulate the release of oxytocin in pregnant women; therefore it is highly recommended for use during labour to help contractions to intensify and become more effective in pulling up the horizontal uterine muscles to open the cervix and move baby down into the pelvis and into the birth canal. . The simplest and most common way to use Clary Sage during labour is to put a few drops onto a dry cloth or flannel and mum will inhale the aroma when she needs it to help herself become more calm and relaxed during contractions. . Another great way is to soak a few cotton balls in the oil and put them under the pregnant mums pillow. The aroma will eventually make its way through to the mums olfactory system and will have many benefits such as relaxation, reducing muscle tension, calming the nerves and increase effectiveness of contractions of the uterus. . You can also put 20 drops of Clary Sage oil in 50ml carrier oil and massage gently around the abdomen, hips, lower back and pelvis. This blend can be rubbed onto the feet and palms of women in labour or if they are waiting to go into labour. This is a great way of introducing the oil into the body. . And lastly, Clary Sage can also be added to a bath for a relaxing soak in those last few stages of pregnancy . #TheLifeOfThree
10.01.2022 S E L F H Y P N O S I S Did you know self hypnosis is the most effective technique to achieve a goal? If you state your goal, ie your birth in a positive statement and repeat the goal while in a self hypnotic state, you will help to reprogram your subconscious mind. ... This will motivate you and help you to believe the goal is achievable and you are capable. This is why positive birth stories, positive talk about birth and positive affirmations and vision boards during pregnancy can be so effective in retraining your subconscious mind and removing fear or past experiences of childbirth. Its so important to repeat and practice any positive tool or technique you wish to use in your birth. Given the current pandemic and anxiety around upcoming births for mums, there is no better course to prepare and create a positive mindset for your birth. 10.01.2022 The main principle of hypnobirthing is to remove fear and when this is achieved pain during labour is considerably reduced (and in some cases eliminated completely), leading to an easier, calmer and more comfortable birth experience. Statistics also show us that women are less likely to have an emergency c-section with hypnobirthing than without. Studies have also shown that hypnobirthing can shorten labour. ... A birth plan is not stating how your birth day will go, but is showing your prepared and informed for your birth day allowing you to make the best decisions as well as having tools to help control your birth. 08.01.2022 How did you birth your baby? Did you have an upright birth? Did you know, when the mother is in an upright position it can help the baby to be in the easiest position for birth, making more space in the pelvis than if she is semi sitting or lying on her back on a bed. Current research has shown that this can make labour shorter and giving birth easier as well as increase safety for the mother and her baby by reducing the risks of complications during birth. ... 07.01.2022 H Y P N O B U B After picking up Influenza late in my pregnancy & babies growth dropping from being on the higher percentile to quite low, an induction date was booked in for me. I was crossing everything baby would just come on its own, before the induction date. Id been having mild contractions for about a week & at my doctors appointment at 38 weeks I was 4cms dilated already, I kept active with walking daily, bathing in & applying essential oils, taking raspberry ...leaf tea tablets & evening primrose oil tablets & expressing twice a day. Contractions were there but not having any regularity to them. On the Saturday I lost my mucus plug and my contractions were intensifying & I had a lot of pressure but still nothing. Monday the 16th September (Induction Day) we went to the hospital, I was 5cm dilated when my waters were broken and the Dr seemed pretty confident that I would progress from this on my own and actually couldnt believe the baby hadnt come on its own between our last appointment and now. I put on my playlist which had all the hypnobirthing tracks Id been listening too throughout my pregnancy & a playlist of my own music. Id made up a pain roller blend with my dTERRA oils & diffused oils aswell. About 45minutes after having my waters broken contractions started, the first couple were enough to take my breath away but manageable, they intensified & very quickly, pretty much on top of each other with minimal to no break between & I had a lot of pressure. When it came to pushing I was struggling to stay focused on my contractions, my breathing, the pain & pushing & had to really use the techniques From the hypnobirthing course to refocus. My labour was 1 hour & 50 minutes from start to finish. Start being when my waters were broken to when she arrived. Our little Andi was in a rush to meet us This was my third baby and definitely my quickest birth but also my quickest recovery. My midwives were very supportive during labour & asked me afterwards about the tracks I was playing and a bit more about hypnobirthing. They hadnt heard much about it but commented of how controlled my breathing was & how calm I was throughout the whole thing. They were blown away by how quick it all happened aswell. Even though this was my third baby Im So glad I did the hypnobirthing course with Sarah, it definitely helped & Id recommend it to anyone regardless of if its your first baby or fifth baby. #hypnobirthing #hypnobirthingaustralia #baby #newborn #birth #love #education #planning #family #parents #love

06.01.2022 If your thinking about Hypnobirthing, this is what a mum who is in preparing for birth had to say.. During my first pregnancy the topic of birth was absolutely taboo! The thought of it scared the absolute crap out of me to the point I completely shut down the closer my due date got! I didnt nest and didnt enjoy my pregnancy at all because I was petrified of birthing! I have a phobia of both pain and needles and thats all I could think about in the lead up. My mum w...as adamant I was going to have server post natal depression and was preparing to get me counselling! My labor was long! I was so anxious and just wanted to give up! In the end when my little man was on my chest I realised, holy shit, I wasted months of my life living in fear, I didnt get to enjoy my pregnancy and my memory of it was awful because of how scared I was for that moment (yes it was bloody intense but it really wasnt THAT bad)! So I knew if I was going to do it again, my mindset needed to change... How? Was the question. Hypnobirthing! Was the answer! Though Im still waiting to birth; one thing I can say is this time around I feel so much more prepared and confident going into it! I have an open plan that can be manipulated to cover any direction my birth can go in, I have so much more knowledge, which to me is power and control! Id be lying if I said I havent experienced any fear this time around, but as soon as the doubt starts to creep in I fire up my affirmations and get back to a positive mindset! This time, Im going into my birth with excitement to meet my newest baby and I only have my hypnobirthing to thank! If its your first, second or even 3rd Hypnobirthing can help and will help prepare your mindset. 06.01.2022 2 things no one prepared us for - 2020 & how quick the months are flying by I am unsure where the year has gone, and I am sorry for my absence from my baby Hypnobirthing Tamworth. ... My first baby, Clancy is 3 now and working full time as well as answering all the questions a 3 year old has surely makes the hours in the day fly by leaving not a lot of spare time. I am thinking of every birthing mum and dad that have had to adapt to the conditions of covid-19 and preparing for a birth in such an uncertain time. In regards to future classes, it has been a struggle to be able to prepare for group bookings, given the uncertainty around the pandemic and restrictions. I have had a lot of enquiry for spring time births, and I will only be holding private classes or online classes until the covid-19 settles and allows some kind of normality back. For mums trying to prepare for births and dads supporting, I have made this decision around the fact that its certainty for mum that she will receive the knowledge and education to best prepare in such an uncertain time. I am unable to guarantee my group classes will be able to run and how many I can have present, I think private or online is the safest and best option to prepare for your birth and add some ease to such an anxious time. If you have sent an enquiry I will respond and help in organising a time to start your Hypnobirthing journey. If you wish to chat about the online option or schedule a private class, please email me and I will be happy to help. 05.01.2022 a MUST read for any mother expecting to birth during the current pandemic In such uncertain times for mothers I wanted to reach out and share my experience on hypnobirthing. As I watch the news and hear the limitations on expectant mothers my heart goes out to them but with the right information and guidance I trust their experience can still be amazing.... When we sat awaiting Sarahs hypnobirthing session it was clear we both felt we were in for an afternoon of homework. We had no idea what to expect. 20 minutes into the session Sarah had us both captivated. Likely not for the usual reasons you would expect. Being a front foot organised woman pregnancy shows you very quickly you are not in control everyday. Sarah taught us firstly that we have rights around our birth experience. We can control the birth to make it comfortable for both of us. We learnt the roles we can both play to ensure the experience is as personal as we were both wanting. It was not all about breathing and body it was also about so much more that I was unaware of. That afternoon we shed tears and laughed with Sarah as for the first time the both of us felt excited for labour. Though I went in with an open mind about pain relief Sarahs words were in the back of our mind the whole time. I knew we had absorbed the information she gave us even in my worst state of mind. We continued to remind ourselves to stick to our plan even when I as screaming otherwise (which Sarah warned me I would). Did I have a peaceful quiet labour that I enjoyed? Absolutely not even close. But when things didnt quite go to plan we still laboured in under 2 hours with minimal pain relief. Its taken a few weeks to be able to think about the day and reflect positively. Shock was real. In saying that as the doctors and midwives were talking to me I didnt have to question anything, I knew what they were saying and what the next steps would be thanks to Sarah. I never felt confused or unsure. I look back now and I know we were so informed thanks to Sarah even though it wasnt peaceful it was personal and an experience together we will will always Cherish. Evie was born happy healthy and is the light of our life. I cant stress enough if you are feeling uneasy about your support people and restrictions around current labour please learn your rights and your body will do the rest for you. Women are truely powerful. Hypnobirthing is so powerful and you can be to! even in this craziness, your birth can be amazing

03.01.2022 Approximately 1/3 of birthing people describe their birth as traumatic. These are only those who report their experience. One of the most invalidating phrases i...n maternity care is "well at least you had a healthy baby." Obviously they are happy their baby is healthy. But let's not pretend that's all that matters. To use that phrase as a scapegoat to normalize obstetric violence and to further invalidate the very real feelings that come with birth trauma is absolutely unacceptable. We need to do better. 02.01.2022 The end of 2019 was a busy time with lots of mums preparing for birth. Hypnobirthing Tamworth welcomed 3 hypnobubs earthside within 24 hours of each other last week While receiving news of positive births I also received this beautiful message from a mum who had recently birthed a beautiful son ... Hi Sarah Im just wanting to let you know that we welcomed our little bundle of joy last Monday 17/2/2020 at 4:02pm. My due date was the 21/2/2020. At 2am on the 17th my waters broke and we rang the hospital to see what we needed to do. As I was GBS positive we had to go up their straight away for me to start my antibiotics. I am terrified of needles but I had been mentally preparing myself for it for weeks using our breathing techniques you taught us and self affirmations. My husband even commented how well I handled the cannula. By 7am my contractions hadnt progressed and the doctors wanted to start inducing straight away but we said no and that we wanted to wait till 10am to allow my body to do its own thing. By 10am we still hadnt progressed in contractions and started our induction. By 1:30pm I was declared in active labour and by 4:02pm our beautiful baby was born. I only used gas for pain relief and was smiling and laughing up until 2:30pm. Once our beautiful boy was out I was smiling and laughing again. Thank you for all the techniques you showed us. We named him Cooper Graham and he weighed 2975 grams.
