24.01.2022 #IBS #gutdirectedhypnotherapy Latest research confirms that gut-directed hypnotherapy is very effective in treating IBS. Research first reached this conclusion in the early 1980s and multiple studies have shown it since. So why do the vast majority of IBS sufferers still know nothing about it? http://www.news-medical.net//Gut-directed-hypnosis-more-ef

23.01.2022 The world is currently living with the impact a global pandemic and we are going through extremely uncertain times. That uncertainty can be difficult to cope with, but there are things you can do to manage your fears and anxieties. You will notice a big difference in the way you feel when you increase your awareness and learn to accept the new normal. What have you tried to help you manage the uncertainty?#anxietyrelease #covid19

22.01.2022 Most of the clients I see online have heightened anxiety levels at the moment. Anxiety is worry about something bad happening in the future. It hasnt happened yet and may well not happen. The best way to stop the mind from spiralling out of control is to focus that energy on the things that are within your power/ control and do them. That will change the way you feel. We may be stuck at home, but there is still a lot we can control and make a choice to do. - First, switch of...f the doom and gloom on Facebook, social media, the news and the like. Being informed is one thing. Feeding your brain doom and gloom on loop is quite another and heightens your anxiety levels.. -Worried about running out of food- Shop for your essentials and stock your pantry - Worried about catching the virus when out doing your shop, follow the health advice (keep your distance, wash or sanitise your hands often and well), open doors with a tissue and bin it afterwards, wipe the trolley down if you can or wrap a plastic bag (the one you put fruit in) around the handle (bin it at the end), wash your hands often and well (up to 30 seconds, 2 rounds of the happy birthday song for kids) -Feeling stressed? Stay away from doom and gloom on social media. Go for a walk or have a dance to upbeat music. List all the things that you are fortunate to have in your life. -Feeling isolated? Phone or Skype a friend or family member and have an actual conversation, read a good book, listen to uplifting music, have a good conversation with those in your house, play with the kids, drop a note to your neighbours offering help) Feeling at a loss? Plan a routine and stick to it. Get up, shower, get dressed every day and plan something and do it. View the extra time as a bonus and do something that you used to complain about never having time to do: read that book, learn that new language, do some art and craft, bake or learn to bake, take up a new hobby (you can pretty learn to have a go at anythikng with You Tube)... Finally, make self-care a priority. Whether it is a dance, yoga, some exercise in the garden, deep breathing (not the same as normal breathing, and hands down the single best way to calm down an anxious mind and body), meditation/relaxation recordings, reading a good book, watching a good movie, going for isolated walks, sitting out in the sun in the garden, having a bath, talking to people, cooking, cuddling the cat or the dog..., whatever it is for you, do something that makes you feel good every day.

15.01.2022 I see many women in my work that just dont know their mothers loved them and who actually believe that they were not loved. No matter how bad things get, tell your daughter that you love her and always will. Then tell her again... and again...

15.01.2022 Mindfulness and meditation dont have to involve sitting cross-legged doing the Lotus pose. Today i sat and watched kite surfers whilst sitting in the sun. As i sat there, i imagined that i was one of them. I SO want to do kite surfing but my back doesnt allow. So i took myself back to a memory of bungee jumping and i could feel myself riding the waves and the wind with those guys today. Which memory do you use to get you to be in the moment and feel free? 02.01.2022 Since my last post on anxiety, the clients I see online and other people I have been speaking to have been reporting that their anxiety increases when the news comes on, when they talk about COVID-19, when they think about their elderly relatives who are vulnerable with underlying conditions etc etc etc. Whilst we live in very uncertain times and it is natural to feel some degree of anxiety and worry, understanding what is going on is, as ever, the best way to start regaining...Continue reading
