13.01.2022 Gratitude What are you the most grateful for today? I'm grateful for still being able to help mums to be to achieve a positive childbirth experience.... Due to Covid-19, all antenatal classes taught in hospitals around Australia have been cancelled. It absolutely breaks my heart knowing that a lot of pregnant women are facing challenges accessing proper childbirth education courses and this is one of the reason why I choose to postpone my maternity leave and keep helping other women. If you are thinking about signing up for Hypnobirthing classes but not sure whether this if for you (believe me, it's for everyone!) this is your chance to find out. I'm offering Free Online info sessions where I explain what it's all about and you can ask questions. PM me for more details. Stay safe, Barbara x www.hypnomami.com

13.01.2022 Have you heard about the Fourth Trimester? The fourth trimester is the 12-week period immediately after you have had your baby. Not everyone has heard of it, but every mother and their newborn baby will go through it. It is a time of great physical and emotional change as your baby adjusts to being outside the womb, and you adjust to your new life as a mum. Remember you're not alone! If you're like many of us who don't have family around, check this link below and find out wa...ys of getting through it : https://www.mother.ly/life/truths-about-fourth-trimester

12.01.2022 Not allowing women to drink and eat during labour goes against human rights. That's the same as not allowing an athlete to drink water during a marathon, in case he/she gets injured and needs surgery. It doesn't make sense.

06.01.2022 This week is Infant Mental Health Awareness week. The theme is 20:20 Vision - Seeing the world through babies' eyes #imhaw2020 Infant Mental Health means nurtu...ring the infant brain, mind and body. It means tuning in to our biological instincts to listen and respond to a babies biological needs. When we respond to babies we shape their brains, give them infant mental health and lifelong mental health. Infant Mental Health means an end to behavior modification, forcing independence, training, needs suppression, silencing, emotional suppression, shaming. This is making our infants, children and families: more anxious, more depressed, more addicted, more stressed, more unhappy, more lonely. We must stop dangerous parenting and sleep experts who are not neuroscience and mental health informed. This is diminishing infant mental health and parent mental health. Infant mental health cannot be separated from parent and family mental health. Families need to be supported by society to nurture their infants. This is not happening. We must invest in families. Families need emotional support and therapy, financial support, physical support, healthcare. Our careers must allow us to have families. Our work as caregivers must be truly valued. This is not happening. If we saw the world through babies eyes we would see that they are looking for acceptance, love and support. The nurture revolution is coming. Image by @countessshyanne

05.01.2022 Please spare a minute to support this campaign. No woman should be told to birth alone.

04.01.2022 A great article about the pros and cons of different birth positions. Although I believe the best positions are the ones you are comfortable with, most have no idea that you can use gravity as your friend.

03.01.2022 "Induction of labour is absolutely the right decision for some women, and absolutely not the right decision for others. Some women are delighted that they had their labour induced, and some women regret this decision for decades. It is for those reasons that we encourage anybody who might be affected by this to get lots of information about induction of labour or any other birth intervention before making a decision." 02.01.2022 Visualisations for Birth. Have you tried it? " According to researches, using brain imagery, visualisation works because neurons in our brains, those electrically excitable cells that transmit information, interpret imagery as equivalent to a real-life action. When we visualise an act, the brain generates an impulse that tells our neurons to "perform" the movement.... How cool is this? Are you ready to learn more?
