19.01.2022 I’ve always been a big fan of the brand Patagonia and it’s founder Yvon Chouinard. For a huge company they have taken every measure possible to make sure their materials are sustainably and ethically sourced, and their factories operate ethically. https://www.comicsands.com/patagonia-tags-political-message

18.01.2022 This mat is going to look spectacular, it’s small 110 cm x 90cm x10 cm, and will be available for sale next week I’ll post pics of it when it’s finished with prices Have a great weekend!

16.01.2022 A new mat in the works, the closed cell foam isn’t in the mat yet. So it’s looking a little bit under stuffed... more pics to come

15.01.2022 All finished, except for some fine tuning on the harness when the customer comes in, I love making sure the mat is as comfortable to carry as it is to fall on

13.01.2022 This will keep your hands warm while you chalk up, during the freezing Queensland winters.

11.01.2022 A new crop of boulder mats ready for picking

11.01.2022 Wow the future is looking bright

11.01.2022 We try to reuse, reduce and recycle as much as we possibly can. This is a boxing bag, which we place in K2 Basecamp so they can fill it with clean plastic packaging, and it can have another life in a gym.

06.01.2022 Another one good to go

04.01.2022 It’s a red letter day when we make a sweet secondary boulder mat. It uses Velcro as a hinge and it is able to be separated into two parts. This is another mat that will last it’s new owner many years

03.01.2022 Giving the new mid sized pod bag a run. Word is it’s a good size, and perfect as a bolting bag. The older model has stood up to a lot of abuse

03.01.2022 Another Boulder Mat almost completed. This one is a custom size 142 x 110 x 12 cm. It has our premium dual density foam. It has a Velcro lock under the hinge and can be velcroed to other mats that have that feature. Neodymium buckles. Custom harness. Lots of cool features! And those awesome colours!

02.01.2022 We are passionate about repairing and renewing equipment for the sake of reducing our impact on the planet. For a reasonable price we will put new foam in your old boulder pad, even if it is not one we made. We can use foam that is reasonably priced or slightly more expensive premium foam. Please contact for an appraisal and quote

02.01.2022 Ben Hoginator and Lauren Jae please contact us your prizes await you If anyone knows them please ask them to contact us

02.01.2022 This is a new mat, it’s called the Hoplite it is 130 x 90 x 10 cm using premium dual density foam. It has a large harness, which can be custom made to suit each customer. The harness is designed to carry like a backpack and is extremely comfortable to carry. LIFETIME WARRANTY! This mat is for sale contact for pricing.... Jack, the workshop cat isn’t for sale!

01.01.2022 I am making a lot of boulder mats at the moment. I thought I would take a moment to talk about the foam I use, because that is the most important item when you make boulder mats. I use two different foams in each mat. The open cell foam acts like an air bag, when the climber lands on the mat the closed cell foam acts as a uniform layer to push the air out of the bottom layer, and then the top layer compresses. This makes a much more controlled, comfortable and safer mat. I us...e the best foam I can possibly source, it is made in Brisbane , like our mats, and lasts for years. I have made many mats that have regular heavy use and are well over 20 years old. I’ve attached a picture of the open cell foam I use. Both pieces are the exact same foam, the only difference is the top piece was made over 20 years ago, it’s had heavy use and still has years of life in it yet.

01.01.2022 Winner announcement! I want to apologise for the medical chalk bag give away, for those who are helping us during this pandemic. The announcement is almost a month overdue, I apologise to all those who commented, nominated and shared. We have had a couple of issues which have been beyond our control. But we are able to make the winner announcement today. I would like to thank Megan O’keeffe, who as an emergency nurse was able to give her medical knowledge, and herself is work...ing hard to help us stay safe from the virus. Thanks heaps Megsy! I would also like to thanks Rhys Phillips who was able to help retrieve lost data, couldn’t have done it without you mate. I’d also like to thank K2 for their initial help at this give away inception, thanks guys!
