24.01.2022 What is SEO and why should you care? Whether you are building a new website or have an existing site, one of the main tasks to help with getting your website to show up higher in Google is to do some basic search engine optimisation. I have just finished an explainer video on what SEO is all about and how you can get started on yours right away!

24.01.2022 About time I emptied my Mac bin. After viewing the 'About This Mac' and view 'Storage', then 'Manage', I have been able to free up 130GB of space by emptying the bin.

23.01.2022 So its the start of a new year and you want to get your website into top gear. Heres a great trick to see if your basic SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is working. Just add site:// instead of https:// to the front of your website address in google search and select search. Example site://mywesbitename.com.au Take a look at the Google results. If you are seeing the page names the same as your website main menu item names, then you need to make some changes. Learn how. https://www.iconnectyou.com.au/website-seo.html

23.01.2022 Nowadays there seems to be so much emphasis on spending resources on Social Media marketing. This is great for brand awareness and communications. Just like standing out the front of your store talking to the foot traffic. But you still need the store. Thats the business end of your marketing.

23.01.2022 Save the date! Netstripes in association with Regional Development Australia - Orana, are running a Digital Bootcamp in Dubbo on 30th & 31st August, to help small businesses succeed in the digital world. Just $49. I recommend at least attending the Customer Personas & Buying Cycle session to help understand who your ideal customers are, their needs, their buying behaviour, and what they look for.

23.01.2022 I have been saying for a while now about Facebook business pages getting less and less organic post reach. How can you achieve growth without reaching new audiences? An interesting read!

22.01.2022 With an avalanche of posts in your newsfeed now, you need to stop people long enough to get your message to sink in.

21.01.2022 Time for a break. One of the main things with Digital Marketing is keeping up with the fast pace of change by continually updating my skills and knowledge of current trends. I have just finished the Digital Garage Australia Certification by Google. 23 modules covering a wide range of subjects from marketing fundamentals: search, email, social media, display, e-commerce, geo-targeting and analytics.Phew!

21.01.2022 Is your website homepage image making visitors unhappy. If you have a full page sized image on your homepage, it may be hurting your website SEO. Not everyone is happy to scroll down to find the content, so they hit that back button, hurting your SEO. Try shortening the image so people can easily see what the site is about and have your main content above the fold

20.01.2022 Time to tidy up your online presence using these 10 great tips.

18.01.2022 Looking forward to sharing my tips and tricks on websites, local search and social media soon.

17.01.2022 Intent beats identity. Immediacy trumps loyalty. Why Consumer Intent Is More Powerful Than Demographics. This is GOLD!

10.01.2022 Training Landcare groups from Riverina and Murrumbidgee this week. One big takeaway was them realising that Social Media is not the silver bullet, rather its just one tactic in their Digital Marketing Toolbox.

10.01.2022 The Federal Trade Commission has announced it will be clamping down on social media influencers endorsing products and they will need to make it obvious the relationship with their sponsor. Some may remember the old Cash For Comments scandal in 1999, so this is the FTC moving with the times working at the speed of slicing cheese with a butter knife. So you will soon be seeing the disclaimer This mornings pout courtesy of my sponsor XYZ Lip Oils in your Insta feed.

10.01.2022 Beware of fake Telstra technical support scammers asking to allow them remote log into your computer. I have had 2 x calls today and they cannot produce any ID to be associated with Telstra. Never give a stranger remote access to your computer, even if they claim to be from a reputable business.

10.01.2022 The 1 Thing Nobody Understands About Social Media Marketing

09.01.2022 I love how passionate Landcare staff and volunteers are, and we had a great day today helping them with their social media marketing. #landcarensw

09.01.2022 Facebook is following Instagram and has started removing likes from the feed. The trial has started in Australia last Friday. You will still be able to view likes if you are the page admin. I think it is a good idea so as to stop people obsessing over likes and judging their self worth. Have you noticed likes disappearing on your feed yet?

08.01.2022 Thanks to Warrumbungle Shire Council, it was great to meet some lovely small business owners in Coonabarabran while helping them with their digital marketing last night.

06.01.2022 If you are thinking of getting a new website or already have one, find out what makes a website really work for you, rather than having just an online brochure.

05.01.2022 About time I emptied my Mac bin. After viewing the About This Mac and view Storage, then Manage, I have been able to free up 130GB of space by emptying the bin.

04.01.2022 Well done Lansdowne Farm. Good to see this great local start-up getting some coverage. Thanks for your kind words.

04.01.2022 Im glad you enjoyed the workshop, Vivian Evans. Its a good outcome when everyone is madly writing notes in the workshop and keen to get home and put their newly learned skills into practice.

04.01.2022 I had the pleasure of meeting #Narromine and #Trangie small business owners recently at the Back To Business Week social media workshops. Its so good to see local businesses owners who are keen to learn online marketing to grow their businesses and keep their communities alive.

04.01.2022 Great article from Jon Loomer lifting the lid on Facebook metrics and what they really mean!

04.01.2022 Whether you are using social media already, or want to find out more about how social media marketing can benefit your business, this workshop is for you. #Narromine

04.01.2022 A great initiative by Narromine Shire Council to bring quality training to small business owners and community.

03.01.2022 Now is a great time to make a posting plan for your Business Facebook Page. Take a moment to check your facebook insights. The orange bar demonstrates the success of your previous posts. If the orange bar is short, dont repeat that content. If the orange bar is long, try to figure out how to repeat the performance of that successful content. e.g.the green arrows are performing better than the red arrows.

02.01.2022 I was great to meet local #landcarensw groups recently at the Bathurst Landcare 2 day social media workshop. They can now use the new knowledge to communicate the messages online to help protect our natural resources, creating more productive and sustainable farms and conserve our environment!

02.01.2022 With the recent changes to the Facebook algorithm, brand pages will be finding it even more difficult to reach their page followers. Some wise words or wisdom from Rand Fishkin about deciding on how to move forward in 2018 with your digital marketing

01.01.2022 Good customer service is something missing from a lot of businesses these days. That makes it even more important to acknowledge those that do it well. There ar...e some great businesses and individuals up for the Peoples Choice Rhinos this year. Have your say and show other local businesses that service with a smile matters. See more
