11.01.2022 KEEP YOUR TRAVEL DIARY FREE THE NEXT FEW MONTHS- Here is the excited whisper on Norwegian Spirit Redeployment Ex Athens This is going to be hot and popular. The Greek Islands, visits to Istanbul AND visits to Israel. New itineraries will offer seven or eight ports in seven days, often with late departures and calling in at sought-after destinations including Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu, Greece; Kusadasi and Istanbul, Turkey; Ashdod and Haifa, Israel; Limassol, Cyprus... as well as two new ports of call for the brand, Patmos and Volos, Greece. The season will be April to October and fares are leading in at $897 p.p for 7 nights on the first sailings. These are the cruise only rates. The 1, 2,3 or 4 perk rates (drinks / shore excursions / dining or wifi) represent even better value and if you were to break the benefits down the cruise only price is quite small. As an example, during peak season (e.g. 5 July) the lead-in price is $1477 p.p in an inside cabin BUT $1678 p.p with a Drinks Package included (or another perk if you wish) the price will move as the cabin categories are booked up. Gratuities are not included in these prices. 06.01.2022 Carnival Splendor Launch- My thoughts. Really enjoyed the ship. It is a bit out there style & design wise. Which makes it interesting. All nice , shiny & new . New carpets, New bars & New food options. Only a couple of decks go all the way through the ship as the 2 main dining rooms are 2 storeys high with a galley in between. There are some funny little quirky nooks that takes you to whole new sections. FOOD- Great. Main dining rooms have sections along the windows, hidden f...rom rest of MDR. Good if you want views, bit quieter but cant see party/singing action unless you get up. Waiters walk along here with trays. Food was very good for 3.5*. Plenty of food options with Guys Burgers, Fahrenheit 360 steakhouse, Masala Kitchen, Southern BBQ,Mongolian Wok, MDRs & Buffet. Carnival has more coffee shop options along with fresh juice bars. Serenity Deck- Not as big as Spirit, not as many "pods" ,although gives more space but more pods up on side decks plus modular lounges on deck above. Resonable sized pool plus 2 spas. Not as much shade but bar & coffee shop are a nice touch. Slides- Awesome, Twister seems longer than land based. 2 kids Splash parks for the younger ones. Casino - very large with usual table games along with heaps of latest poker machines. Pools- One main pool large enough to do laps in quieter times, spas are on deck above overlooking pool & roof retracts for shows & bad weather.One smaller pool in Serenity Cabins- Very much the same as Carnival Spirit except Balcony doors are thin & not that big.
