12.01.2022 Copied Post- An open letter from a Property Manager during COVID-19 When you hear Property Manager I can almost guarantee that for most people the instant thoughts that come to mind are ruthless, greedy, insensitive and generally, horrible people. But here is what you don’t know...... That Property Manager you left voicemails for angry because she couldn’t answer your three calls one after the other was not ignoring you, she had another four people also calling while on the phone to another tenant with another heartbreaking story about job loss and as she hangs up the phone and hears your three voicemails each angrier than the first she knows she still has the other four to get through before coming back to you. That Property Manager you angry emailed at 3am telling her how she does not care about you and this just a job to her, she seen it the moment it came in because she is barely sleeping at night lying awake, sometimes crying because she feels helpless when unable to help and doesn’t know how to respond when she has clear instructions from her owner that they have also lost both their jobs and just can not afford to allow a reduction as this is currently their only income to cover the mortgage, They don’t know how they will pay their own rent. That property manager you screamed at when she said she was doing her best didn’t have dinner with her young family last night because she was on the phone to your owner at 8pm Friday night trying to find a solution to help you both through this time whilst hearing her youngest child say mummy is boring she is always on her phone she doesn’t laugh anymore. But lastly, that property manager that you told had no idea what you were going through and had no empathy, she found out her partner had been stood down and she is now supporting her family on one wage but has not asked for a reduction because she feels embarrassed as she is liaising between both sides and doesn’t want to burden her owner so continues on. We understand this is a tough time for everyone, we see it, we hear it, but most of all we feel it too. Property managers are not immune to everything happening in the world right now. We are human and we are suffering loss like everyone else yet we stay quiet and put your family first as our own family struggles because we are genuinely trying to help you. We do this job because we do care, but unfortunately we are the middle people and we are bounded by a contract that we must act on our clients instructions and sometimes they are hard responses to relay, but this is our job. So before you leave that angry voicemail, before you send that derogatory email, breathe. Take a step back, yes you are angry and yes this is a frustrating time but when things get personal and nasty it affects our ability to get things done faster and with a clearer head. Be kind, try to have patience and understanding so we can all get through this together

06.01.2022 SACAT you work just for the tenants and I am personally over it!!! my letter to you email: Dear Sir/Madam, Further to your request for the additional information as per your email I have gone over all my paperwork sent to you and all but the photos were sent.... As you can see by the tenants ledger and other documents sent the bond does not even cover the rent that the tenant owes so I am a bit baffled why you are looking at all other items which we are not claiming for. We have also included the police report number and insurance details pertaining to the immense damage that this tenant has caused. I just do not understand and would like to know how you can hold this bond to ransom whilst having all this information. I must say after being in this industry for 26 years the process of claiming "silent bonds" from tenants who have abused the system, trashed homes, refused to pay rent all because they know how the system works. I just cannot comprehend why you need me to resent this documentation for the third time, I admit that the photos were not sent however it does clearly state when I lodged the application that your application states "that I will bring any documentation along with me to the hearing".
