25.01.2022 Happy Monday! Another year of the City to Bay Fun Run wrapped up in yesterdays warm sunshine, and we can pick the sore and slow participants around the office this morning! This year, we ran for Rare Cancers Australia, and were very pleased to have raised an incredible $1,500! A very special thanks for those who donated and ran to aid this valuable cause.

25.01.2022 An awesome way for Sam and Vivian to head into the weekend, following their CA Graduation ceremony last night at the Adelaide Oval. We really admire the efforts Sam and Vivian have put into their study over the past few years and are very proud to have further grown the number of Chartered Accountants in our firm. Congratulations!

23.01.2022 An enjoyable evening for several of our senior staff at i2 advisory to participate in the SMSF and Accounting Awards 2017 on Thursday 19th October at the Hilton Hotel. i2 advisory were nominated by SMSF Adviser for Small Business Adviser of the Year and SMSF Firm of the Year, with Jonathon Morphett being shortlisted for SMSF and Accounting Professional of the Year. Pipped at the post on the night, but a great achievement to be acknowledged for from both the firm and Jon's point of view. Well done!

22.01.2022 Some happy Friday news! We feel very honoured to have been considered for, and accepted as one of the top 100 accounting firms Australia wide, in the recent review conducted by the Australian Financial Review. The biggest reason we are proud of this achievement is that to obtain this award, we have not compromised on what is most important to us our close relationships with both clients and staff. We thank you for all those who have contributed towards this acknowledgement, knowing full well that without you our business doesnt reach such great heights. Todays achievement only excites us for tomorrows opportunities

21.01.2022 If you are planning to be away over the Easter/ANZAC Day break, please stay safe and enjoy yourselves. Additionally, please ensure that if you are away over any of these dates that you have processed any compliance issues and payments either prior to or during your break. That time of the year when things start to ramp up in the tax world, it can be easy for the due dates to get lost!

20.01.2022 A pat on the back to I2advisory for being invited to present to approx 100 ATO staff on issues facing our clients in SA and Australia. The ATO were very impressed with our insight, input and takeaways. Well done Lauren Allen, Michael Viale and Kevin Johnson on putting together a thorough and entertaining presentation.

18.01.2022 Hands up out there who suddenly finds they are working from home a whole lot more than normal? To make sure you are getting the most out of your 2020 tax return, keeping some basic records now for those working from home will help maximise your deductions come tax time. Please ensure you are keeping the following records whilst working from home:- - A record of the hours you are working from home each day with dates and work hours for the entire period you are working from ho...me - Details of your actual light and power costs during this period (so we can choose the best method to claim) - If you are using your home internet and home phone, details of the costs incurred based on your usage diary - Details of computer consumables and stationery costs - Records of hardware (i.e. laptop, screens, modem) and software (i.e. anti-virus) costs - Working from home may also result in a higher mobile phone use especially if using emails and hotspot more frequently. Please keep records during this time (in particular) of your representative work use to business use If you would like to discuss the above or other matters, please give one of our accountants a call (who are quite likely working from home themselves!) for more information Take care all

18.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that i2 Advisory has been ranked in the AFR Top 100 Accounting Firms Australia wide for a 2nd consecutive year, rising up 3 places to No. 93 in 2020! Whilst we are humbly happy to receive this acknowledgement, the most important matter this year for us has been making sure our clients have been (and continue to be) supported through what has been for many, the most challenging year on record. We appreciate that for so many, this year has been a roll...ercoaster where business survival has been a huge concern as well as hopefully being in the strongest position to take advantage of opportunities as restrictions ease. We have all adapted to learn so many new terms that were unheard of this time last year, including:- JobKeeper Cash Flow Boost Social Distancing Lockdown Zoom Meetings Where has all the toilet paper gone?! This year if nothing else, has taught resilience and the need to adapt to change. Hopefully from that sprouts opportunity. ‘sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried, but you’ve actually been planted.’ Christine Caine

18.01.2022 We hope everyone in SA enjoys a relaxing long weekend! Please note the following tax payments and lodgements which are due in March 2020 * * Important to note the ATO have released a number of postcodes which they have identified as being within bushfire impacted regions. The ATO are granting automatic deferrals for any taxpayers within these zones for all lodgements and payments to 28 May 2020. You do not need to apply for this deferral if you are in these regions, but we ...advise checking with us first to make sure the deferral has been applied.. This list covers several local government areas, and you can search through it via the following link:- https://www.ato.gov.au//Specific-disas/Bushfires-2019-20/

17.01.2022 We hope you all had a very relaxing and safe Easter! Please take note of the following tax/superannuation payments that may fall due for you this month

17.01.2022 Apart from the below dates, with not too much by way of ATO compliance for the month of December, we feel it is important to also look forward briefly into the new year, as some of you may be on extended leave to enjoy this period. Whilst the ATO provide some concessions for this time due to the holidays (with many Activity Statements receiving extensions to 28 February 2020), it is important not to be caught unaware on your return from the Silly Season that superannuation guarantee payments for employees will still be due 28 days into January!

17.01.2022 Welcome to i2 advisorys first blog for 2018! If your goal is to purchase your first home, this blog may assist you in achieving your goal sooner: http://bit.ly/Firsthomesaverstrategy

16.01.2022 The first week of spring has finally arrived! It was not all winter hibernation mode going into the new financial year for i2 advisory, as we were fortunate to have Kristen Raison from High Heels Consulting take us under her personal development wing to discuss the importance of Soft Skills within a business. This included helping to understand different personality types (including our own!), leadership skill development as well as continuing to grow a positive culture and environment. We then also took to the streets of Glenelg to tackle The Amazing Race with a load of fun challenges for us all to come together for (and get insanely competitive over!), with bonus points for finding as many modes of transport as possible

15.01.2022 HAPPY NEW FINANCIAL YEAR!! Here’s hoping for a new financial year that is a little less rocky and unpredictable than the last one! Please also note the following payments/lodgements due this month... In addition, for employers using Single Touch Payroll with 19 or fewer employees during the 2020 financial year, Finalisation of 2020 STP Lodgements will be required to be declared to the ATO by 31st July 2020 which will then allow employees to complete their 2020 Income Tax Returns

14.01.2022 This week wed like to mention a welcome to the newest member of our superannuation team Matthew Henry. Matt joined us as an undergraduate back in 2017, assisting with Statement of Advice's, before filling in a role within superannuation. He is working towards completing his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting & corporate finance and we wish him the best with the rest of his studies and his accounting career!

13.01.2022 Things are kicking into gear with school holidays finishing, who can believe it is already February?? Unfortunately this also means that some ATO payments will be due in the coming weeks.. If you haven’t already considered your 2020 income tax returns, it may be a good time to speak to your accountant to get started before the lodgement deadline approaches

13.01.2022 Well done to Matthew Reid on his recent Merit award in Management Accounting and Applied Finance. This puts him in the top 5% in the nation. The hard work paid off - well done!

12.01.2022 Some recent positive news with state and federal governments announcing proposed easing of COVID-19 restrictions! Whilst conditions are improving, we hope you are all still staying safe and well. Please note the following tax payments and lodgements which are due in May 2020 * ** * Important to note the ATO are providing various tax relief measures to assist taxpayers throughout these difficult circumstances. If you are feeling the economic effects of the Coronavirus, that ...may be impacting your ability to meet your tax obligations, please contact us to discuss potential options such as payment deferrals and no/low interest payment plans as soon as possible. Please note that employers receiving benefits of the Cash Flow Boost Stimulus need to consider this potential credit when making payment of their March 2020 BAS and April 2020 IAS/BAS (if applicable). ** If you were identified to be within a bushfire affected postcode listed by the ATO, and you have a tax payable amount resulting from an eligible BAS/IAS or 2019 Income Tax payment, you will still be eligible to lodge and pay by the 28 May 2020 deferred date. However, please check with us first to ensure the relevant payment(s) are eligible payments for this relief. 12.01.2022 We hope you all enjoyed the Labour Day Long Weekend before the busy lead up to Christmas starts! Please note the following tax payments and lodgements which are due in October 2019

12.01.2022 A couple weeks ago we asked the question ‘who has found themselves working at home more frequently recently’ due to the need to socially isolate. Just a fortnight later, we imagine the number of people setting up their office remotely from home will have increased significantly!! Fortunately for taxpayers finding they are utilising more running costs working from home, the ATO have today announced a temporary ‘shortcut’ home office deduction update. This will allow individual...s to now claim 80 cents per home office hour from 1 March 2020 30 June 2020 (upon which time a review to potentially extend this measure will be considered). Coupled with the hourly rate claim increase, the ATO will also be relaxing the requirement for taxpayers to have a dedicated work-from-home area for deductibility eligibility. Therefore, we recommend that you pay close attention to recording the dates and total hours for the entire period you are working from home each day to maximize your allowable deductions at year end If you need any assistance with this we are more than happy to have a chat over the airwaves via phone, Zoom etc.

11.01.2022 To assist with your budgeting heading into the end of the calendar year, please be aware of the following upcoming tax payment dates. PS: It is only 46 days until Christmas!

10.01.2022 'Footy Colours Day' returned for another year to the i2 office last Friday - and the sporting banter turned up another notch this year!

08.01.2022 We hope you all greatly enjoy the long weekend ahead! Please note the following tax payments and lodgements which are due in June 2020 * * As a reminder if you had a tax debt arising from lodgement of your 2019 income tax return this will be due for payment or arranging of a payment plan today (5th June)... In addition, if you are currently enrolled on the JobKeeper scheme, you will have until 14th June to lodge your May Turnover and Projected June Turnover with the ATO to receive your next payment. If you require assistance with this step we are happy to help. Please also note that you may wish to consider making your superannuation payments that relate to the year ended 30 June 2020 before this date to enable the deduction to be included in the 2020 financial year. Please discuss this with your adviser as an option, noting the various funds may have cut off dates in place as to the last date they will accept cash payments relating to these contributions, so please act quickly if you wish to pursue this.

A big thank you to all of those who contributed towards the cause to improve men's health in Australia
