23.01.2022 ACT COVID-19 update (22 October 2020) Cases today: 1 Active cases: 1 Total cases: 114 Recovered: 110... Lives lost: 3 Test results (past 24 hours): 473 Negative tests: 103,205 A new case of COVID-19 has been detected in a man in his 70s, who is a returned overseas traveller. The man is a diplomat who returned from overseas on 9 October. He flew into Sydney International Airport and travelled to Canberra by private vehicle. He did not stop en route to the ACT and has been quarantining since his return to the ACT. He underwent a test at Day 10 of his quarantine period which returned a positive result. The man is being supported by ACT Health. ACT Health is following up two contacts of this individual and is managing them in accordance with National Guidelines. While we believe the risk to these contacts is low in this instance, we are taking a cautious approach. The circumstances of this new case demonstrates that our quarantine system here in the ACT is working well to protect the Canberra community from COVID-19. But it is another timely reminder that COVID-19 still poses a risk to the ACT and the situation can change quickly. Any ACT residents who have travelled to NSW in the past 14 days must keep up to date with the latest NSW Health alerts (http://bit.ly/NSWHealthAlerts) on affected locations and health advice. The list of locations in NSW where COVID cases have visited is frequently updated, so it is important to check regularly if you have travelled to NSW in the previous 14 days.

19.01.2022 Diwali at New Zealand Police College, thank you to Wellington Multicultural council for the invite. Wing 343 are an amazing diverse group who bring amazing skill to the Police force.

The program, which was an ACT Labor election commitment, will support local businesses across a range of industries, including retail, tourism, accommodation, arts and recreation, personal services and hospitality sectors, all of which have been significantly affected by COVID-19. To be able to participate, businesses must: have a physical shopfront in the ACT; and have received JobKeeper payments during 2020; and be in the retail, tourism and accommodation, arts and recreation, personal services and hospitality sectors (as per ANZSIC codes); and have less than $10 million in turnover per annum. From 9 December, consumers will be able to login to the ChooseCBR website to access a range of vouchers worth $2.50, $5, $10 and $20 Vouchers will be able to be redeemed at participating businesses from the same day.
