22.01.2022 Claudette and Don, born and raised in two very different cultures - South African and Scottish, both travelled to Australia at different times, and in each othe...r found the love of their life. Having faced all manner of challenges and coming out the other side stronger for it, they know more than most what real love is. And how damn lucky was I to be the person marrying them!!!! A gorgeous ceremony, live streamed to their family and friends overseas who couldn’t attend due to COVID restrictions. No global pandemic was going to stop this union. Don made the gorgeous arbour and backdrop, guests were treated to sounds of one of the best bagpipers in Adelaide Iain Carr | Scottish Bagpipes, the family tartan and a ribbon with the South African protea was used in a traditional handfasting ceremony, and they shared their first drink of marriage ‘Whisky’ from a traditional Scottish love cup the Quaich. It was so wonderful to be back in the saddle, performing a ceremony, the first ceremony I’ve done since late March. West Lakes Golf Club was a truly lovely location for the ceremony and reception, Glenn Hawke Photography and Rhiannon Miller Video Production captured it all on video and in photos, and Lyons Den Cakes made such a stunning wedding cake. . . #adelaidecelebrant
