18.01.2022 Happy New Year friends. Thanks for all your support in 2014. How awesome that #Melbourne has welcomed the new year with some #african dancingThis is such a p...erfect fit..if you didn't know the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution in December 2014 proclaiming 1 January 2015 as the start of the International Decade for People of African Descent ending on 31 December 2024, with the theme People of African descent: recognition, justice and development. The main objective of the International Decade is to promote respect, protection and fulfilment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for people of African descent, as recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The decade will provide an opportunity to recognize the significant contribution made by people of African descent to our societies and to propose concrete measures to promote their full inclusion and to combat all forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. At Celebration of African Australians we look forward to engaging you in 2015 and beyond as we commemorate this International decade for People of African descent. Well done Melbourne for featuring African Australian artist as your headline act for the new yr fireworks! #welcome2015
