21.01.2022 Don't forget: if you are waiting to upgrade to Windows 10, you have until July 29th this year for the free version. After that, you will be paying ($119 for Home, $199 for Professional). Existing installations will not be affected: you won't be asked to pay. If you are holding off because you are unsure, contact I am IT for advice and assistance. On the other hand, if you are not wishing to upgrade then the annoying pop-ups will go on that date as well.

21.01.2022 I also offer photo retouching/restoration if anyone has old or damaged photos.

19.01.2022 If your email account is being used to spam your friends the chances are that you DON'T have a malware infection and your email account has NOT been hacked. Most likely, your email is being spoofed: someone is pretending to be you. How do you know? If you can still access your email, then they haven't hacked it. To be sure, check your sent items. none of those emails are in there. If you don't host your email on your machine, malware isn't going to make much of a difference, but if you want to be sure, just give I am IT a call. How do you stop email spoofing? You can't. You can let people know but don't tell them that you've been hacked - it's a bit like saying you have a STD. Spoofed email addresses are generally only used for a few days and then dropped as they use another.

19.01.2022 No one seems to be certain, but according to the initial plan, the free upgrade to Windows 10 finishes in July this year. After that it may - or may not - be paid. If on a Windows machine and it is still XP or Vista, you really need to look at upgrading to at least Windows 7. For those of you liking linux and Windows, the next Win 10 update will include native command-line bash shell linux.

19.01.2022 Ever been the victim of a cyber crime? Or an attempted cyber crime? You can report it at http://www.acorn.gov.au/

15.01.2022 #Liarra #Auscaas. Liarra has finished her 30 sec TV commercial. Fantastic.

11.01.2022 See you all 5:40 am Monday morning for the dawn procession. (I'll be there at 5)

10.01.2022 Are you in this video? If you get this message in facebook messaging or on your feed, don't click on it. It is phishing.

10.01.2022 Remember: only a few more weeks until you no longer see those annoying Windows 10 notifications. Or be able to get it for free.

07.01.2022 So I finally bite the bullet and remote host my website so it doesn't go down. It's down. The fatal flaw of reality vs hope.

04.01.2022 Have an iphone? Upgraded to ios10 - watch out for wifi assist. It is used to increase your wifi speed by adding in your cellular data. In other words, you are using your phone connection while on WiFi. to turn off wi-fi assist If you don't want your iOS device to stay connected to the Internet when you have a poor Wi-Fi connection, you can disable Wi-Fi Assist. Go to Settings > Mobile Data. Then scroll down and tap Wi-Fi Assist.

04.01.2022 Liarra's article in today's bendigo advertiser

04.01.2022 Having just worked with several people who have lost all their data due to ransom ware (which for a business is disastrous: as in total collapse of your business disastrous) please ensure that you are trained in anti-malware. It is too late once you have been compromised.

04.01.2022 Changing over Hard drives, installing Operating systems and productivity server. all going well until: Outlook's distribution lists. Contacts are easy to transfer: export them to a pst and import them (CSV works but limits the number). For lists, just click on them, forward them, save them and drag them into contacts. Problem solved.

01.01.2022 Well, all done and submitted. No changes needed (not saying it will be approved, just seems to be all present and correct). Interesting discussions on malware scams, people visiting Lebanon, a few jokes, and minions. The usual stuff really.
