That’s around 2,700,000 paper coffee cups thrown out every day! ... 2.5 billion coffee cups per year in the UK and imagine the USA consumption... ________________ When produced - The cups are made from virgin paper pulp which adds to #deforestation and disrupts animal habitat. Lids are plastic which don't biodegrade and poll...ute our planet (but not ours!). ________________ When disposed - Only 1% of these generic standard cups are recycled due to their non friendly plastic lid and plastic lining in order to hold liquid. That means the other 99% go onto become landfill, pollute oceans or are incinerated. _______________ Most commercial recyclers or compost facilities are not set up to process these cups and often reject them.
