We are building a team of exceptional people who are at the leading edge of client-focussed dental care. Our highly respected, privately owned, boutique dental practice has been operating in the Hobart CBD for over 30 years, and we are rapidly expanding. We are looking for the right person with a client-centric focus to join our... expanding team as a Dental Assistant. Who Are You Someone who wants to be a dental assisting super-star and enjoys going to work every day in an environment that values your skills. 19.01.2022 Today is World Cavity-Free Future Day. Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in both Australian adults and children. Over 90 per cent of Australian adults have experienced tooth decay. Latest statistics show that around a third of Australian adults have untreated tooth decay and one in four children (aged five to 10) had untreated decay in their baby teeth. 19.01.2022 Why do we love the fabulous Dr Sarah? Let us count the ways. It's Dr Sarah's birthday on April 6, so yesterday, the IGD team headed to Hobart Paintball. We spent the morning bonding over several exhausting and very competitive games. In the end, we had all had numerous laughs and several little round reminders (bruises) of the day. A few of us retired to Preachers to rehydrated and have lunch. Dr Sarah even took an emergency call while at lunch from a client with a severe toothache. We love you Dr Sarah...happy birthday

18.01.2022 It's Tony's birthday today, and the staff have turned his desk into a Mardi Gras float. I think he was hoping for a cake, but this is nice.
17.01.2022 Santa has a list of people on his wanted list. If you are on it you're required to appear at the Bad SantaChristmas Party. It seems to be the IGD staff. Question is who has been naughty or nice this year?
16.01.2022 Dr G has been purchasing Tasmanian art again. This time for a very worthy cause at a charity auction. This copper glazed piece is by the ceramicist Zsolt Faludi in collaboration with Kirsha Kaechele. Currently it is displayed in our Quiet Arrivals Area.
15.01.2022 A number of our clients have travelled over the holidays. 12.01.2022 As we approach Tasmania re-opening its borders to low-risk states; we want to remind all our clients that we will continue to follow our strict screening procedures on arrival at the practice. Social distancing, temperature checks with a contactless thermometer, hand sanitising and screening questions. We will also maintain our high level of disinfection that we have always had. Tassie has been fortunate with the freedoms we have had since our initial lockdowns opened because... we have followed protocols. It's not time to relax. It's time to stay vigilant and continue to look after each other. Learn about Tasmania's Border Safe Strategy here: http://www.premier.tas.gov.au//SAFE_REOPENING_STRATEGY_12O #COVID19 #COVID
11.01.2022 Our good friends at Battery Point Medical have been featured on the cover of Best Practice Magazine. The conversion of the 1885 Henry Hunter "GATTONSIDE" on Sandy Bay Road into a medical practice is amazing. https://issuu.com/engagemed//best_20practice_20issue_2019 #batterypoint #hobart

07.01.2022 That's a little mean BUT we still did laugh. Sorry, Dr G and Dr S.
06.01.2022 Everyone loves a Christmas party, and we are no exception. Last Friday night the historic Maylands Lodge completely turned it on for our staff. The venue, food, wine and service were exceptional. Santa had gifts for everyone as they had been good girls and boys throughout the year. When the staff presented Dr G a gift of a stay at The Keep, there were tears. He was overwhelmed at the thought of such generosity. With the year we have all had, it was great to end it on a high. Still, one more staff Christmas gift to come, a staff night out to the Theatre Royal (Hobart) in February. #christmasparty #loveourstaff #thehobartdentist #maylandslodge
06.01.2022 Dr G is now officially a theatre critic. Well maybe not, but he did make it onto the Theatre Royal’s social media.
05.01.2022 Dr G and Tony have spent the a long weekend in Strahan with friends doing their best to support the local economy. Dinner at Risby Cove (so very good) and the amazing Gordon River Cruises. An absolute must do. It is such a beautiful place. We will return to see more.
04.01.2022 From the very Christmassy Drs Ian and Sarah and the rest of the Ian Gurner Dental team we wish you all the best for the holidays. Stay safe and see you all in 2021. #merrychristmas #happynewyear
03.01.2022 Dr G and Tony extended their stay in Strahan by a day when they got an unexpected invite to a lunch at Risby Cove. It is the perfect example of when an opportunity for an adventure presents itself just make it work. The food was perfection and they got to meet some really amazing and interesting new people. It was the cherry in the cake for their weekend break. Thank you Strahan, Risby Cove Accommodation and Restaurant, Strahan @analiesegregory @bruceflowerpot @shortmikey
02.01.2022 We may only be able to do this domestically but it so nice to be able to see friends and family from interstate again. Dr G's daughter, Nicola arrived the day after Tasmania opened its borders to South Australia. He was one very happy dad.
02.01.2022 The ultimate in revenge. When a dental client turns out to be the person who gives Dr G his COVID vaccination. Thanks Jane he did not feel a thing. The lure of a chocolate vanilla Chupa Chups helped. . . . .... #covidvacccine #covid #dentist #teeth #smile #smiles #thehobartdentist #hobart See more
