25.01.2022 Russell and son from Brisbane got their first ever Barras this morning, 7 in fact between 60 and 75cm again... missed a lot of others too.

25.01.2022 All powered up and ready to go with a improved wiring system. I cant believe how good the screens are on the newer 84 series Garmin gpsmap series and the processor speed compared to the older models I had. #garminaustralia #garminmarine

24.01.2022 Pam also nailed a few of these critters out of the timber today, this one going 45cms.

24.01.2022 Well Ive been "itching" to get the new centre arrangement for the boat out of the mould and can finally start fitting the Garmin electronics and then paint it in 2 pack polyurethane. Im kicking off charters from the 24th of this month and I have to say its a welcome change with so many bookings coming in. Looking forward to start producing Big Barramundi pics with clients instead of refit photos!!... Does a boat change its mojo when its been refurbished???? I hope not as mine had some seriously good mojo before the virus.!.

22.01.2022 Heaps of threadys around this arvo, 5 more adding to tally with a few more nice barras thrown in.

22.01.2022 She breathes again.... onto flooring tommorrow...

21.01.2022 The young lads got a couple right at the end bringing home dinner for mum and dad.

21.01.2022 Just finishing off a few small items and then she gets her AMSA survey inspection and shes ready to roll for charters starting next week.

20.01.2022 This was an amazing day, while my client caught around 15 Barra for the day, Ryan had managed to lose a possible 130+ that morning before capturing 2 over a metre and dropping a est 110cm that afternoon. The kinda days you never forget!

20.01.2022 Was great to have my brother back up here for the last few days of the Barra season, it was like old times when he was still guiding. Got the chance to meet and watch RMF newly appointed cinematographer Kane Chenoweth do his thing and his first video he has put together clearly shows his talent. Well done Col and well done to the winners of the RMF guess the size and who caught it comp!. #ryanmoodyfishing

19.01.2022 5 barras to the boat in the first 2 mins this morning.. with a further 6 today.. all between 61 and 75cm. One lone Queenie giving us a bit of curry.

19.01.2022 Did a test run with this new prop option on my motorguide 80lb today and was quite impressed. It has marginally more power than my old motorguide 3 blade propeller. It seems to have better directional bite when turning and it seemed to hold the boat better during strong wind gusts. I have not yet tried it in rough water conditions but today it performed well in 30 knot gusts in a river. Definatly worth the money I bought it for. #leckylegaustralia

19.01.2022 Only 12 days to go till the Barra season is back on. Every season i set myself a personal challenge to see how many wild saltwater one metre plus Barramundi i can put clients on each season. Although due to the virus cutting short our season last year we managed 7 of them with a few others almost making it to the boat. Some new ideas and new lures to try this year and looking forward to it. A few past photos below of the "holy grail" and each one of them I'm sure has a story and as well being released, from clients who have tried for 17 years to land one and to clients who manage to catch their first ever Barramundi and its over a metre. I wonder who will be the next lucky one!.

18.01.2022 A different perspective..Cant wait to get these beauties into action... The big Garmin will help me keep within casting distance of those bigger fish. Nice having the plano tackle storage tucked away neatly and easily accessible for when I need change lures. #garminmarine #garminaustralia

18.01.2022 A few more legal barras around 63cm this morning, missed quite a few more and a stonker thready before landing one thready around 75cm..

17.01.2022 **,,WARNING ... CONTAINS SWEARING!!** Bradley earned this fish big time.. after several close calls to being cut off with the bow mount electric and the sounder transducer, we cradled this nice 107cm Barra onboard caught on an old dog lure. After some happy snaps she quickly took off to fight again another day. Hooking one of these magnificent fish over one metre in length while casting hardbody lures is something special for the clients that I have put them onto. I happily gave Brad the lure to take with him seeing it was his first metre plus and new PB Barramundi.

17.01.2022 Not bad when I hook a Barra on the very first demonstration cast for client Andrew Leahy today. 8 or more Barras coming onboard from 63 to 83 cms during the day plus also having lost quite a few bigger ones today... things are picking up.

16.01.2022 The day that could of been! A quick flurry of bites that didn’t stay connected on 90cm to metre plus fish was frustrating to say at least! However 78cm was the biggest boated today.

14.01.2022 What on earth am I building?.. Anyone need a coffin built?.. #somethingnew

13.01.2022 Weve upgraded the PB to 87cms this arvo.... can another metre plus grace the deck today?. Caught on an old dog eyecon. If you would like to try your luck on a real Barramundi, I have limited availability in sept/ October.

13.01.2022 Paul had just jumped off one in the 90s, but then 2 casts later one at 70cm decided to stick... 18 degree water temps this morning coldest Ive seen in a while.

11.01.2022 This is what drives me. What a lovely couple, Pam and Ray have been travelling around for 17 years and when he phoned me a few weeks ago, he told me he had 2 things on his bucket list that he wants to tick off. 1 a 20kg plus Red Emperor and 2, a meter plus Barramundi. Well Ray Im honoured I got to deliver one of the long awaited dreams for you and geez what a fight she put up.

10.01.2022 Some big schools of Barra starting to show up lately, here is one at 72cm from a school of approx 60 or 70 fish.

10.01.2022 Must not have been many Crocs around in those days.. check out the Jetty back then.

10.01.2022 Still getting a few, 70cms seems to be the common size today, amazingly responding well to lures given the chilly water temps.

09.01.2022 Biggest for today was a 66cm model for Noel.. among a few other species. Unfortunately we had a proper big Barra gain her freedom after spitting our live bait on the surface. Gave a couple of lads a tow back after they had some unfortunate engine probs. Hopefully they can get it fixed soon and get back out there.

08.01.2022 Never seen so many Crocs in one day. We also came across 3 that were sunning themselves within a 80m stretch of bank up a small creek today..

08.01.2022 Metery number 6 for this season, 107cms, caught on a hardbody lure... kept us on our toes after a good 15 min fight on 20lb.

06.01.2022 While its fantastic that Australia and NZ have done very well in the battle against covid19, heres hoping that one day soon the rest of the world will be over it. I had and Im sure plenty of other tourism operators had quite a few bookings from international clients to come over and fish this year that they and i were looking very much forward to. Hoping we can see them again soon!. In the pics, Last year I got to spend a few days with champion Japan GT300 racecar driver Shinichi Takagi and his wife Hitomi. The photo of Hitomi holding a nice 86cm Barramundi was one of nine between 83 and 99cms caught within 40 mins. Quite a few days of memories!...

06.01.2022 Nice little 78cm to start the morning.

06.01.2022 I wonder how much of this will be going on tommorrow.! Goodluck to everyone for the start of the Barra season.

05.01.2022 This is why we postponed the other week during the bad weather, Ray had said he wanted a bucket list metre plus Barramundi. Well he just smashed that with metery number 7 at 108cms. Caught on lure.

05.01.2022 Another heap of legal Barra to 67cms this morning during very tough ultra calm north westerly wind flow we are currently experiencing. Nice to have a surprise appearance from a gangster GT that gave a pretty good fight in the shallows.

04.01.2022 Oopsy!!!.... it will buff out, I swear it only kissed the rock. Been in this spot many times before on lower tides and never hit anything... glad I had a spare onboard! Better go see Leckyleg for a new one.. #leckyleg

04.01.2022 Battle scarred, worn out, change of hooks... out with some old and in with some new. It never ends!!! Some great luring tides coming up and always pays to check the hardware!!!

04.01.2022 *DATES HAVE BECOME AVAILABLE *... NOW ONLY THE 1ST OF OCTOBER AVAILABLE.Due to the NSW border being shut for some time to come, I have had a regular client postpone his multi day charter to next year.. First in best dressed.

03.01.2022 Must be cold, this one kept its dorsal up for the pic!!.. pretty good bites today for freezing conditions... cant wait for the warmer months ahead before the season shuts. Also on that note I have a few really good luring dates that have become available in Sept and October due to a few regular clients that are stuck in Melbourne. If your keen to get in before the end of October send me a message.

02.01.2022 Going to test this new high performance prop out in this crazy wind tommorrow. So glad my clients I had booked for hinchinbrook the last few days followed my advice and could postpone to a better time when its not blowing the dog off the chain. #leckylegaustralia

01.01.2022 A quick trip today and Leo nails his first ever Barra at 63cms. Water is very cold and fish are very lethargic. Was inspired by finding a few schools of very large fish but just could not stay connected with the timid bites..

01.01.2022 Nice little 81cm to kick off the morning.

01.01.2022 Long day on the water today, and weather conditions almost too nice. Glad to have a few ladies out lately getting onto thier first Barra.

01.01.2022 Plenty of fingermark around at the moment. Mostly between 45 and 50cms.. also the bait schools are thick in the middle of the channel at the moment which is the likely reason these thug sized tuna are hanging around which stretched the arms of Sherlin and Jamie today. Also 4 nice fingermark were boated.
