14.01.2022 Our latest job is finally complete , a custom bow wave-splitter pod designed to reduce the shock and impact that the bow of a typical motor-cat undergoes when out in rough sea conditions. The custom wave-splitter pod was created over the course of 6 weeks , no initial design was drawn up in the beginning as work immediately took off with wooden templates made up to gauge an estimate look and curve to the pod. Eventually construction foam was cut to shape to create the basic l...ook of the pod , once achieved the pod was glassed inside and out with multiple layers of fibreglass. Next, bog was applied to the pod which was meticulously hand sanded to shape to give it a flawless and smooth look. We then began the process of carefully raising the pod into position against the hull, once secured the pod was attached using multiple layers of glass followed by more bog and hand sanding. The final step consisted of multiple layers of paint and plenty of fairing in order to seamlessly blend in the brand new pod with the rest of the boat.
