01.01.2022 Today, our CEO Dean Gillespie has written to all state and territory Treasurers calling for stamp duty reforms that would exempt Islamic finance transactions from being double-charged stamp duty. We are structuring our products to avoid this anyway, but it will make it much easier if Australian states and territories can move in line with other places, such as the UK and Malaysia, where these sorts of transactions are automatically exempted from paying twice. We'll keep you posted as we continue to advance the cause of non-interest-based finance in Australia.
