23.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that effective from Monday 2nd September we are changing our Support Centre system. We will be using the Service Camp system by TeamViewer instead of the Kayako system we have been using for many years. We are making this change in an effort to improve our support. The process for how to request support remains unchanged. Our support email remains as [email protected] and from Monday 2nd September the www.ibisos.com URL will open our new Ibis Suppo...rt Centre using Service Camp system by TeamViewer Current support tickets already submitted in our Kayako system will be processed in that system. You can continue to login to our Kayako system at www.support.ibisos.com to review current and past support tickets, but this will be unavailable after 16th April 2020. You can continue to access our self help Knowledgebase on our Kayako system at www.support.ibisos.com until our new self help Knowledgebase is ready in the near future. 22.01.2022 This is the news that Ostendo clients who use foreign currency with MYOB have been waiting for! MYOB have finally released foreign currency to the MYOB API. On 5th December 2019 MYOB released foreign currency to the MYOB API which now allows Ostendo Operations to post foreign currency transactions to MYOB AccountRight Live Premier. Now that MYOB have released foreign currency to the MYOB API, the developers of Ostendo Operations have commenced developing foreign currency into... the Ostendo accounting link for MYOB AccountRight Live. They expect to have this completed by the end of 2019 and will release a new upgrade of Ostendo Operations for this. Ostendo Operations clients who are still on MYOB Premier Classic and need to post in foreign currency should not upgrade to MYOB AccountRight Live Premier until the new Ostendo upgrade has been released. There is a process that needs to be followed to convert from the Ostendo accounting link for MYOB Classic to the Ostendo accounting link for MYOB AccountRight Live. 16.01.2022 Update to Ibis and Covid-19: How it will affect our service to you Now that government restrictions for Covid-19 are easing, we are changing our policy regarding face-to-face meetings. The health and safety of our clients and our consultants is paramount and we will do everything we can to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission at work. ... As much as possible we will still provide services and support online. Not only is this more economical for you but it is also more flexible. We can provide all our services and support online. Our consultants are now available for face-to-face meetings at their personal discretion. Face-to-face meetings are conditional upon appropriate hygiene measures at the place of meeting, including physical distancing, hand washing and regular cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and touchpoints. Our consultants will; Comply with your Covid-19 workplace policy, procedures and protocols. Record their name, mobile number and email address in the contact tracing register. Wash their hands regularly with disinfectant soap provided. Use hand sanitiser provided. They will also have their own supply with them. Cover their coughs and sneezes with their elbow or a clean tissue. Will keep 1 metre apart from other people at the meeting place. Will not share the use of computer equipment or devices with other people. If our consultants are expected to use computer equipment, then the mouse, keyboard and any other device that is touched must be regularly disinfected. Our consultants will not meet face-to-face if they or people in the vicinity of the meeting place; Are sick or have any cold or flu-like symptoms. Have been tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting the results of those tests. Have travelled oversea in the past 14 days. Have been in close contact with someone who has travelled oversea in the past 14 days. Have been in close contact with someone who is a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days. Are living with someone who has been advised specifically to self-isolate because of close contact with someone who is a probable, suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. Our consultants may terminate the face-to-face meeting if; Government restrictions, health, safety and hygiene requirements are not complied with at the place of meeting. They identify any risks that they are not comfortable with. 15.01.2022 Important Information for Ostendo Clients Using MYOB for Foreign Currency MYOB have announced that on 30th September 2019, they will no longer provide features, patches, compliance updates or product support for your MYOB AccountRight Classic Premier 19 desktop software. This includes updates for any future Windows operating systems. Ostendo links well with AccountRight Live Standard or Premier, but until very recently there was no foreign currency functionality available in ...these products. This meant that if you need foreign currency in MYOB you needed to stay on MYOB AccountRight Classic Premier 19 and could not upgrade to AccountRight Live Premier. The recent release of MYOB AccountRight Live Premier 2018.3 includes beta foreign currency for creditors only, but not yet for debtors. This is still only a beta version as MYOB are still developing foreign currency in AccountRight Live. Foreign currency is not available in AccountRight Live Standard. If you use MYOB AccountRight Classic Premier 19 for foreign currency you should read MYOB’s web page about their multi currency beta programme. Please be aware that Ostendo is not yet able to link with the foreign currency in MYOB AccountRight Live Premier because it is still a beta version in development and testing is not complete. Ostendo links with MYOB AccountRight Live Premier in every other respect. Ostendo can post foreign currency transactions to MYOB AccountRight Live (Standard or Premier) converted to local currency but this does not handle foreign currency gain or loss. We will keep our client's using MYOB updated on when Ostendo will link with the foreign currency functions in MYOB AccountRight Live Premier. Client's using MYOB who need foreign currency should stay on MYOB AccountRight Classic Premier 19 for the time being until advised when Ostendo can link with the foreign currency in MYOB AccountRight Live Premier. 12.01.2022 The long awaited upgrade of Ostendo Operations (ERP) including the full version of the new Ostendo Freeway Mobility App has finally been released. This upgrade will be the most extensive and revolutionary release in Ostendo's history and dramatically extends its capabilities with true Enterprise Mobility. There is also significant functionality in this upgrade for Quality Management, Compliance, Warehouse Management and Preventive Service and Maintenance to name some of the h...ighlights. The Ostendo Freeway Mobility App is the star of this upgrade. It is true Enterprise Mobility offering multiple solutions in one App for both offsite and onsite applications. With its fast and simple setup enabling user defined solutions from a depth of capability, Ostendo Freeway is well ahead of most business Mobility Apps. This new release sports a new look logo. This will be the new branding for an emerging family of Ostendo products that will be released in due course. Since update 211 there have been a series of pre-release upgrades that have become unofficial public releases. This upgrade also significantly enhances the ability of Development-X to provide new functions and patches through automatic updates online. This will enable the roll out of new functions more frequently and reduce the need for major upgrades. A new Announcements feature enables clients to be notified about these enhancements. 12.01.2022 Ostendo ERP an Affordable Cloud Solution When installed on a cloud server or terminal server Ostendo is significantly less expensive than a web based ERP system. This is particularly important with the increased demand for working online remotely because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Low Cost of Ownership... While Ostendo is a client server programme that runs on premise on a server, it is an affordable cloud solution when run on a cloud server or Terminal Services. Ostendo is not an SaaS (software as a service) application and therefore the licences are not an ongoing subscription but a one-off purchase plus an annual licence renewal fee for upgrades. The total cost of ownership for Ostendo is lower than a web based SaaS ERP system. Compared to a web based SaaS ERP system with an ongoing subscription, Ostendo installed on a cloud server is much less expensive and therefore much more affordable for small to large businesses. Cost Comparison The average monthly cost of five licences of Ostendo installed on a cloud server at $AUD300 per month is $AUD500 per month, or $AUD100 per user per month. This includes the annual Ostendo licence renewal fee. A cloud server has the added benefit of being able to accommodate Microsoft Office 365, other applications, file storage and the ability to backup your data, which a web based SaaS ERP system. As an example, Odoo is a web based SaaS ERP system that is priced for small to medium businesses and is less expensive than other web based SaaS ERP systems. The price of five users of Odoo, based on apps equating to less functionality than Ostendo, is $AUD1,500 per month, or $AUD260 per user per month (based on prices and exchange rate as at 16th May 2020). This pricing for Odoo is based on the following apps, which equates to less functionality than Ostendo; invoicing, sales, inventory, manufacturing, purchasing, project and timesheets and maintenance. Payback on Investment Ostendo has the best value of functionality for price of any ERP system available. It will pay for itself many times over if implemented correctly and used properly with good business processes. Ostendo runs on modern technology and features an Enterprise Mobility App for remote data collection, compliance and information. Ostendo is versatile and has been designed with the functionality to meet a wide variety of business requirements in one system. 07.01.2022 Ostendo Exhibited at MYOB Incite 2020 Ostendo was one of only five add on partners specifically invited by MYOB to exhibit and speak at the recent MYOB Incite 2020 Events held throughout Australia and New Zealand. Ian Clark of Ibis was at the Ostendo stand at MYOB Incite in Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch. There was a lot of interest in the new Ostendo Freeway mobility app which supplements Ostendo's ability to handle varied business activities in one integrated add on system.
06.01.2022 Xero’s move to the industry standard API authorisation process, OAuth 2.0 Xero are communicating with their client’s about the transition from OAuth 1.0 to OAuth 2.0 protocol for their API that links Xero with integrated apps. This includes Ostendo, and you will be pleased to know that Ostendo’s accounting link with Xero supports the OAuth 2.0 protocol.... Your Ostendo currently links with Xero using the OAuth 1.0 protocol but this will be deprecated in March 2021. We will be in contact with our clients using Xero to change your Xero accounting link to use OAuth 2.0 protocol.
