10.01.2022 Hello, it's me, Ibis. This is your last chance to catch my workshop Ibis: Your City, Our Bins tomorrow night 13th July at 7pm at the Factory Theatre. I have put a link for the tickets in the comments because I heard that it helps with algorithms. Isn't the world such a silly place sometimes?!... Come and have some fun with me tomorrow night. Love, Ibis x
07.01.2022 Thank you all for your kind messages of concern today. Glen is recovering well, his bill is a little scuffed (and so is his confidence!) He feels like a silly duffer and is glad the person he flew into is okay. I’ll pass on your kind messages when I visit him next week. We are frazzled. We are stressed. We are not thinking straight. The accumulation of low-grade daily stressors leads to accidents. Please be careful and kind to your local urban birds.
03.01.2022 As an Ibis it is most heartwarming to visit cities where birds have successfully integrated into the urban environment. On my visit to Noosa I met with local brush turkeys to hear their experiences. Councillor Phillip Greenham (pictured bottom right) put his State of Origin blues behind him (sorry Phil! Our boys got ya good buddy! ) to talk to me about what it’s like being an urban bird in Noosa: We don’t seem to cop as much shit as you blokes do down south. Just this mo...rning I had a full half a brioche in a cafe, took me time too, and didn’t cop a single shoo. It was great to see such initiatives as the #DumpYourDarts campaign (pictured bottom left) where kind locals will dispose of their unwanted durries thoughtfully, leaving them for urban wildlife to consume. And most heartwarming of all was this touching mural painted by turkey loving locals of Phillip’s mother Karen who is actually a keen supporter of the NSW Blues (sorry Phil, that must be embarrassing for you buddy! ) More blue than a bowerbird on a bucks weekend! I’m being a bit silly. Footy makes me a bit silly sometimes. If you are keen to spread the love for urban wildlife in your town, find out how at my Sydney Comedy Festival Encore show- link in the comments. Love you, Ibis
