20.01.2022 Many people are big fans of iPhone's back glass. Yes, they are gorgeous, but they are very delicate and so hard to fix. It requires a very specific and sophisticated machine, a Laser Separating Engraving Machine, to take the back glass off so that the new back cover can be put on.

Here are some iPhone 6 screens where we have separated the broken glass in preparation to be recycled & remanufactured. After this they will have the polariser removed, be cleaned and prepared for a new polariser, optically clear adhesive and finally a new glass and frame. In total these LCD panels will pass through 6 specialist machines before they are ready to be used again. All done locally here at our Cockburn facility.

For this repair they cut through the microphone when opening the phone and not only diagnosed the wrong problem when the customer went back with the issue, they tried to charge them for two separate issues to fix the repair kiosks own mistake! We immediately diagnosed the correct problem and arranged to replace the part. This iPhone is now working perfectly.

09.01.2022 Kids and broken iPads... Pro Tip - When buying new or second hand, buy the 5th or 6th Gen iPad and avoid the iPad Pro/Mini models. These still use a split display where the glass is economical to replace. The Pro and newer Mini models have a fused display, which requires the entire display assembly to be replaced in every repair. Fused displays can be up to 4x as expensive depending on the model!
