17.01.2022 We always try to an answer. This time the question was, "How do I know that the iPad is upright and it's not me moving?" So we let the water do the talking!!! Everyone stayed dry in this event. W Well done to our steady helper.

17.01.2022 A quick bit of time out this morning to see a superstar of the future meet a superstar of today (both of them). Champion Erin meeting champion Sally Pearson. Good on you. Keep up the good work

15.01.2022 Over four years ago my husband had a severe Ischemic Stroke destroying a fist size of brain cells. The first six months showed rapid gains from being totally ...paralysed to some movement, but then things slowed down, dramatically. For 3 years he has lacked the get-up-and-go he once had, leaving him with feelings of anger, frustration and hopelessness, but kept asking why he lacked motivation. He wanted to control (what he believed was) a psychological problem. A visit to our Stroke Specialist, just recently, revealed that the part of the brain that controls motivation has been burnt out like a bushfire. This part of the brain was not there for automatic recall. Wow not my fault he thought. Knowing now the reason for his inability to control motivation has allowed him to stop beating himself up. It was an enormous revelation for both of us, because as a carer, I was also disappointed with his lack of motivation. But there is hope!!!! What I am now aware of, is that new connections have been made. For the last 3 years, we have travelled from the Sunshine Coast to iCare Rehab Qld, in Clontarf, twice a week to improve his walking, gait training, memory improvement, motivation and much, much more. Physiotherapist, David Matson has encouraged a family enriched environment, helping all his patients with his unique understanding of individuals complex issues. Thank you Dave, we would be lost without your enormous wealth of knowledge, and the iCare machine. My husband now does 4 klm in 45 minutes, on the iCare Machine unassisted. This is a comprehensive system that includes therapeutic games and functional assessments, as well as gathering real time data to generate objective outcome measures. Headway ABI also have this rehab system in place for their clients benefits. Enjoy
