21.01.2022 As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 NKJV. Our God is a God of generations. Two weeks ago, Joe Fuiava and his family took the next step in their faith journey. They made a beautiful declaration to follow Jesus for the rest of their lives. Joe shares his testimony. All my life, I grew up in a Catholic Church and then a Mormons Church. As a baby, I was baptised at the Catholic Church but didnt know much about God, and at the Mormons Church, I attended... baptism out of obligation. To me, this baptism is significant as Ive made a personal decision to follow God for the rest of my life. Two years ago, I was going through a very difficult time at work. I was challenged by my friend to say a minute-long prayer before I go to work. I soon felt more peace going to work. My prayers grew to become longer and stronger. And I finally decided to give my life to Jesus. Since then, Ive built authentic relationships with friends in my connect group and with the leaders at ICC. Ive also experienced God through the outpouring presence of the Holy Spirit in my life.Hes been so close to me and Ive never felt like this before. God has changed me. Ive found freedom from addictions and my family has come to know Christ personally. God is my way, my truth and my life. And Im ready for whatever plan He has for me. I cant contain my joy and salvation which Ive found in Christ alone. 11.01.2022 Let us remember the mercy our loving Father has bestowed on us and not hold back this same mercy from our neighbours. Matthew 5:7 teaches us that Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. We need to show mercy because:... 1. God shows us mercy 2. God wants us to be more like Him 3. Its our pathway to heaven 4. It makes us blessed and is a remedy for depression So if were going to be agents of mercy, how do we show it? - We forgive and comfort people when they mess up so they wont give up in despair (Luke 11:4) - We are patient with peoples quirks, idiosyncrasies and traits that may irritate us (Eph 4:2) - We show respect to people we disagree with. Do we choose to win the argument or show mercy like Christ? (Luke 6:35-36) - We help anyone who is hurting. Mercy triumphs over judgement. (Proverbs 3:27) If you are struggling to give mercy today or need a deeper level of mercy in your life, let us leave you with this encouragement from Titus 3:5: He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,. We thank you Lord that it is through your mercy and not our own doing that we have been saved.
