23.01.2022 Nice way to travel to Adelaide and back for the day. Very nice, indeed.

23.01.2022 Now, more than ever, there needs to be transparency of the contribution of every dollar spent on marketing. #whatsyourlevelofmarketingbleed #sxmetrics #triple10

22.01.2022 Spent some time today clarifying my why. Strongly urge you to watch this video. It changed my life back in 2011.

22.01.2022 Equality baby, yeah!!

21.01.2022 There’s a difference between marketing and advertising. Advertising is a subset of marketing, for sure, but they are not the same thing. This video is an amazing communication piece. It moved me, as John Lewis videos always do. Not ashamed to say I shed a tear - it is that awesome.... Marketing communication pieces are designed to encourage people to follow a call to action voluntarily. You should WANT to do this as a result. No one is making you; you voluntarily click more, search for the brand, share a video, like a post / tweet / image. Advertising is when a 30 second video screams at you to buy their shit at the lowest prices guaranteed. People hate that crap. I hate it. When I do paid promotional campaigns for my clients, I am sending out communication pieces that are designed to a) inspire people, b) create movement to follow a call to action, so that c) I deliver a lead to the business. I am loathe to call this advertising. November 2015 marked a significant milestone for ICD Media whereby I engaged other professionals to help do the jobs that needed to be done. Some big things are on the way, and I can’t wait to share them with you. This includes making awesome videos, hopefully of the same calibre of John Lewis. It’s going to be A LOT of fun. Stay tuned. 19.01.2022 Love working with SignMob here in Bendigo. Looking forward to seeing this artwork up soon!

18.01.2022 Happy Friday. Make it happen.

17.01.2022 We love working with Trent from Signmob. Another great design by The Design Pond too!

16.01.2022 We use facts instead of opinions. Facts give us confidence instead of arrogance. Facts plus confidence allows us to use our skills instead of egos to deliver on what we say we will. #BeAwesome

16.01.2022 Took the All-New Mazda MX-5 out for a spin this morning ... it really is Zoom-Zoom in its purest form. It was raining, so the top was up - but I can see myself cruising the Great Ocean Road in this thing. Bloody beautiful. #lovemymazda #mazdamx5 #jinbaittai

07.01.2022 This is how I want to remember October 2015.

06.01.2022 Sure it works. But is it scalable? Is it measurable? Is it what works best?

06.01.2022 This is very cool.

05.01.2022 It's worth noting that, as a marketing consultant, I don't sell creativity or time. There is no hourly rate. Instead, I sell access to a group of highly respected individuals, who collectively have the knowledge and expertise on how to deliver solutions and results. The end result is what you are buying.... #sxmetrics #deliverators #time #money #self #triple10

03.01.2022 I'm pretty sure no one tapped Steven Tyler on the shoulder, and told him to be the front man of the biggest rock group in American history. He became the lead singer of Aerosmith because he wanted to push the envelope and do bigger and better things than what others were doing. So don't ask. Don't wait for permission. ... Just f**king get on with it, and let the music do the talking. #version0 #inspirecreatedeliver #marketingrockstar

03.01.2022 Whatever "social media" is will change quickly. Your ability to adapt to the "next flavour of the month" is what is important. And your ability to communicate clearly through those channels.

02.01.2022 So Twitter just swapped the star / favourite button for a heart / like. Massive change for them, although it's only something really small. From Gary V ...... "It may feel like a small shift, but it’s actually an enormous deal. Why? Because it speaks to Twitter making a move that is reactive to the marketplace, instead of setting its own course." Personally, I never fully "got" Twitter, and kind of use it reluctantly. Whereas Facebook I got from the get go, and just love. I'm always fascinated by how much attention Twitter gets in the media when you look at which social media platforms are used most in Australia: - Facebook - 93% of Australians using it - LinkedIn - 28% followed by Instagram with 26% - Google+ - fourth on 23%. - Pinterest and Twitter - only used by 17% It will be interesting to see the impact that this small, but significant, change has on the platform. But the end of the day, the platform doesn't matter - it's what you're saying on it, and how you're communicating with your target audience that counts. What are your thoughts on this? Big deal? Is Twitter on the verge of becoming irrelevant? MySpace anyone? Source of Stats - http://j.mp/socialstats2015

01.01.2022 Whatever industry you're in, expect disruption in the next three to five years. China and India are coming whether you like it or not. And when the inevitable blip comes (looking around 2018), your business will need to have reserves in place to ride out the economic storm. Reserves doesn't necessarily have to mean cash in the bank. It can also mean loyal customers who will pay extra for your product or service when they can get the same experience elsewhere for less.... Right now, things are pretty good. We are in peace time. The real test is how will you approach your business when we're in the middle of the war. So ... if you know the war is coming, it makes good sense to start preparing for it now. One preparation strategy is to start looking after your existing customers. Like. They. Are. Gold. And if you already are doing that, then doubling down is probably a good idea too. I really, really hope that the prediction of the Consumer Sentiment Index turns out to be wrong, and that we don't go back to post-GFC levels. But I'm working on the premise that they're right. The main takeaway point? Don't wait until you're thirsty to dig your well. What other strategies do you think are a good idea? Do you think we're headed for an economic blip?
