24.01.2022 Service overhead crane - A service on a crane 10t and smaller crane should take around 1.5 - 2 hours with larger cranes or more complex cranes taking a little longer and should include the following minimum 3 Monthly checks Routine inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and should comply with Australian Standards AS2550.1-2011 and AS2550.3-2002 and other relevant standards.... 1. Inspect all gearbox oil / lube reservoir levels and report any leakage. 2. Inspect the sheaves, drums, wheels, and bearings for general condition and lubrication. 3. Inspect the wire rope for any signs of kinking, crushing, cutting, bird caging, corrosion, reduced diameter or any other unusual wear including inspection of rope critical areas which are subject to the highest number of reverse bending cycles over the sheaves. We also check for proper reeving, lubrication, and the rope termination points. 4. Inspect the hook block and hook for wear, bending, twisting, cracks, grooves, and throat opening, including the safety latch. 5. Inspect the drum for wear and backlash. 6. Inspect the external parts of the bridge, hoist, trolley, framework, catwalk, handrails, etc. for broken parts, broken welds, excessive wear, or any unusual conditions. 7. Check the entire unit for proper operation and controller identification. 8. Open control panels and check all contactors, relays, timers etc. for wear, proper operation, loose, / broken wire connections, etc. 9. Inspect safety devices, limit switches, etc. for proper operation. 10. Inspect motors, couplings and wiring for wear, deterioration and proper operation. (inspect couplings where possible without stripping) 11. Check hoist load brake for proper operation (the brake will be stripped, and the lining will be checked if the technician deems necessary.) 12. Inspect travel motor brakes for proper operation (The brakes will be stripped, and the linings will be checked if the technician deems necessary.) 13. Inspect the main power system for collector shoe condition, centenary condition, etc., for signs of arcing or wear. 14. Measure long and cross travel wheel flanges for wear and record on inspection reports. 15. Visually inspect runway rails or beams for general conditions and properly installed safety equipment such as end stops, rail bolts / clips, anti-collision devices, etc. (A complete runway inspection is not performed as a part of our standard inspection procedure.) 16. Any items found during the inspection, which constitute maintenance or a safety hazard, will be written on our service summary report and left to the attention of your management before we leave your premises. 17. Any additional work required would be quoted as a separate job. 18. Up keep of log books (Log books can be supplied on request.)

The client is modifying the bridges of the 2 cranes to suite a new project. ...
