25.01.2022 GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PLAYERS U13 Advanced Development Camp - hosted by Ice Hockey Queensland For birth years 2007 & 2008... January 14th-17th 2021 Both IHQ and other IHA members encouraged to apply, with IHQ members given preference The Advanced Development Camp will include: - 4 days with 14+ hours of intense on-ice training - 2 on-ice sessions daily devoted to both fundamental skills and team concepts - Off-ice skills training - Interactive webinars on hockey concepts from high level coaches around the world - Live-streamed competitive in-camp games - Visiting state and national level coaches from within Australia. - Healthy lunch and snacks provided daily Cost: The estimated cost for IHQ members is $400 & other IHA members $450. Registration fees include a camp jersey and swag. There are only 30 player spaces and 4 goaltender spaces available so get in quick! Apply today by emailing [email protected]. As a refresher, this includes, but is not limited to:... - Following all rink staff's directions promptly and without argument - Practicing social distancing at practice and games - Washing and/or sanitising your hands regularly - Exiting the rink promptly after your ice session - Keeping your gloves on when shaking hands - No sharing jerseys - No spitting on the ice - No sharing water bottles - Do not disrobe entirely when changing Thank you for your co-operation
23.01.2022 Are you interested in brushing up on your first aid skills? Ice Hockey Queensland will be running a FREE first aid course for all IHQ Members on the Saturday 27th February. This course will run from 2:00pm until 4:30pm at Iceworld Boondall with attendees being provided lunch before the course. Please note attendees of this course will be expected to sign up for the role of medic for a minimum of 10 ice hockey games.

05.01.2022 Dear Members, Ice Hockey Australia has unfortunately announced the cancellation of the AJIHL season for 2020/21. This decision was made as the current COVID-19 situation throughout Australia continues to pose difficult challenges including border closures, mandatory quarantines and the Victorian lockdown restrictions. Although this is disappointing news, this was an important decision to ensure the safety of AJIHL players and staff during these uncertain times in addition to dealing with logistical issues. We look forward to the next season of the AJIHL. Thank you for your understanding.

03.01.2022 ** UPDATE REGARDING FACE MASKS** After reviewing the recently released clarifications from QLD Health, and consulting with Iceworld Management, we are pleased to present the following update: Players and on ice officials, that are on the playing surface, or players benches, are NOT required to wear a COVID facemask (masks);... Players (12 years and older), officials and support staff must wear a mask while entering, populating public areas, and exiting the facility; Non-playing officials, coaches and support staff must be wearing a mask at all times while in the facility; Players getting changed (preparing for play) in the stands (Acacia) or in the cafe area (Boondall) must wear masks and maintain social distancing; Players may remove their masks at the time when they take to the ice surface. Masks should be stored in your hockey bag in a hygienic location (ie. bring a sealed plastic bag to store your mask); On Ice Officials may remove their facemasks once they enter the playing surface. Masks should be stored in a hygienic location (ie. bring a sealed plastic bag to store your mask); Players and officials should put their masks back on as soon as practical when they leave the playing surface at the end of the game or practice, or immediately when leaving the changerooms; There will be a temporary pause on granting spectators access to the facilities. This will be re-evaluated at the end of the mandatory mask period; As a rule of thumb - whenever practical, masks shall be worn by all patrons inside the facility; As always, please comply with, and respect, the direction of Iceworld Staff; The full COVID plan is being updated and will be circulated in due course.
