19.01.2022 Inland Rail is a 1,700km fast freight backbone that will transform the Australian supply chain, providing transit times of less than 24 hours between Melbourne and Brisbane. The project will link businesses, manufacturers and producers to national and global markets and generate new opportunities for industries and regions. Inland Rail is Australia’s largest freight rail infrastructure project and will enable safer, less congested highways, fewer carbon emissions, cheaper fre...ight costs, over 21,500 direct and indirect jobs, and generate $16b in economic benefits. Australian Rail Track Corporation Ltd. - ARTC is set to deliver Inland Rail, in partnership with the private sector, and are now taking EOI’s from local businesses to supply to the project. 13.01.2022 The East Rockingham Waste to Energy plant will feed electricity into the South West Interconnecting System, using household and commercial waste to generate steam and electricity. Once complete, the plant will have the capacity to generate 29 MWe of electricity and is expected to treat about 300,000 tonnes of waste every year. About two-thirds of the waste used will come from households across Perth suburbs, while SUEZ Australia and New Zealand will supply residual commerci...al waste. ICN WA is working with the East Rockingham Acciona Joint Venture, to help source local suppliers for the project, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2022.
