24.01.2022 Brigitte Conn 44 years old Bikini & swimsuit model 40+ Current world 4th bikini 40+, world 5th swimsuit 30+, national 5th & state 2nd.... Hi I’m Brigitte and I have recently moved to South Launceston from Western Australia, I am however from here originally, so have come home, but have lived in WA 26 years. I’m not new to competing, I have competed for two years and in that time done 12 events. My love for the sport began after my weight loss journey of 55kg and the need to push myself that little bit further! With this covid business in action I have mentally kept my focus on there being something to look forward to at the end of it all and luckily the Tas championships has come to fruition!!! I’m super excited to meet everyone here and enjoy the day with all other competitors that share my passion for bodybuilding. @brigittetaylorconn new friends are welcome!

23.01.2022 Hi I'm Geoff I live in Kingston, hobart I only decided to give comp a go 7-8 weeks ago so started prepping from then. My coach is Ewan McKay @planetmaxtassie My decision to compete has alot to do with me wanting to find out how my body would respond to proper nutrition and training with a coach after basic gyming for a few years and not really understanding what it was i was doing or what my actual goal was.... After meeting and following sebastien duay's journey over the last few years it gave me the motivation I needed, nothing short of amazing seeing his work ethic and results first hand and I was lucky enough for him to put me onto Ewan and I haven't looked back. The most rewarding things will be if I can show my two boys that you can achieve anything you put your mind to no matter how crazy it sounds, that will be a massive win for me as a father and role model. knowing I have the commitment and can dedicate myself so much to something which will help me moving on into the future is also an important part. My biggest challenge so far has been making sure as a single parent my prep doesn't effect time with my boys, with ages of 4 and 16 working around their needs/sports/schooling comes first but I think i have definitely found a happy medium. Given this is my first ever comp I just want to set a platform that I can hopefully build on in future competitions My divisions will be body building first timer/rookie/open /over 75kg. I train at the kingborough sports centre, sailtrim and zap fitness when it's back to 24hours. Insta @prawn_sley

So far the most challenging aspect for me has been that I work in a supermarket so I'm surrounded by temptations everyday but I won't cheat cause I have a job at task. I f...eel the most rewarding aspect is hard work pays off and results get addictive. The division I will be entering is mens physique The biggest support has been my family with mum supplying me with chicken breasts when I run out lol and @coachcoreybaldock for taking me onboard, educating me and kicking my butt everyday.I’m feeling excited/nervous about competing because it's something I've always wanted to do Feel free to follow my page @adenmorris93 #bodybuilding #icn #icompetenatural #gym #prep #icompete See more

18.01.2022 My name is Renae I live in teeny Ranelagh south of Hobart. Everyone knows that ZAP bathrooms have the best lighting I got into body building later in life and this will be my third time competing in over 40s age group. I didn’t exactly look after my physical health earlier in life, and after trying a variety of fitness intentions, I saw a body building competition and decided, on the spot, that I wanted to do that. I also want to be deadlifting in my 70’s, and weight-base...d training for females is one of the best ways for us to keep our bone health and functionality long into the future. I train at @ZAP I have been prepping for season B for ever, actually 151 days according to my food tracker, with my amazing and patient coach, Garry Tello, and my incredible dietitian @antidiet_dietitian. I love that it is such a long game, the building the muscle and the cutting of fat, every day there is something to be done that can help you towards that goal. The two previous competitions I have been in with ICN Tas were such positive experiences, everyone is very friendly and super supportive. The biggest support for me has come from my husband, and his belief that I can get there and his cooking. Also the team at @planetmaxtassie -always super helpful and friendly. Feel free to follow me @leakinggrey where there is also lots of dog pics

16.01.2022 Hi my name is Jess I live in Launceston and I’ve been training with @competitive.edge @kfmfitness and @f45_training_launceston I started prepping in October 2019 with @jamiedash to compete in April 2020 for Season A but the show was cancelled 2 weeks out due to COVID which really affected me mentally but when the Coach asked who would like to compete in Season B, it was a quick response for a HELL YES It’s been a long road but one thing I never do is give up Even... when there have been times I have felt like I can’t do it, I’ve pushed myself and kept going! The reason I have set myself this goal to try something different and because of my friends who have previously competed. So far the only challenging things have been only receiving support from people at the gym and the Covid speed hump. The most rewarding aspects are the friendships I’ve made so far and the changes I’ve noticed in my body. I will be competing in the Fitness category and I’m so excited that there is an over 30 category to enter as well. Shout out to my biggest support, my coach Jamie Dash & the rest of the team at Competitive Edge You’re welcome to follow me and my progress: @jesstastri

16.01.2022 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! For over eight years now I've been fortunate to be the ICN Tasmanian President having succeeded the then President Don MacDonald, who helped pioneer the bodybuilding industry in Tasmania. Fast forward 15 events, over a thousand amazing competitors, fabulous sponsors and coaches and too many medallions to count and it has been a busy few years. We've been assisted by some of the most beautiful, generous people I ever met and I can say without hesitat...ion we could not have done it without them. As life is a journey, mine is now taking me on a different path and the Hobart Muscle and Model show will be the last event I will run as the ICN Tasmanian President. It gives me great pleasure to announce the person who will be succeeding me in carrying the flame of our awesome sport forward is the amazing Bridget Freeman. I really can not sum up Bridget's contribution to the Bodybuilding / Fitness industry in Tasmania, as it is vast. She is one of the most passionate, dedicated people I know and I have no doubt she will uphold the values of ICN and put her all into every show she runs on behalf of the competitors. Bridget will be assisting in organising the Hobart Muscle and Model Show and will take over officially as soon as that show is complete. Please join me now in congratulating her and putting your support behind her, she certainly deserves it :) CONGRATULATION BRIDGET!!!! #icn #icntasmania See more

12.01.2022 My name is Emily Rose I live in Hobart, I train at Zap Fitness and I have been prepping for season B for 4 months with my coach is @geelevett @cody_barratt_fitness. The reason I set this goal to compete in ICN Tas is to push my mind and body to it’s limits whilst establishing solid training habits and expanding my knowledge around nutrition. ... So far the most challenging aspect for me has been finding a balance between working, training and making time for friends/family... also resisting the urge to fit Cadbury Marble into my macros every day The most reward aspect of my prep has been the sense of pride that comes with breaking through mental barriers and proving to myself how capable I am when I have a specific goal and take steps towards that goal every single day. I will be entering the divisions of bikini, swimsuit model and fitness model. The biggest support throughout this prep has come from my wonderful close friends and partner. I’m feeling incredibly pumped about competing for the first time! Feel free to follow me @emrose____

11.01.2022 16 weeks out: So now hopefully you have your coach all sorted and your diet and training plans in hand! Your first week will be a learning curve. You will be working out how long meal prep takes and when you can best fit them into your week. You’ll also work out starting weights for your lifts in training and how long each workout takes, as well as when you need to get to bed, organising your supplement supplies, grocery shopping lists etc. It’s also where you need to get y...our head in the game, figure out your deep why for competing and source support from your closest friends and family members. You need to instil in yourself that you are no longer a normal person and therefore you’ll no longer have the eating, training and daily habits of normal people. Workouts can no longer be skipped if you don’t feel like it, grabbing a snack because it’s quick and not for it’s quality/suitability is no longer acceptable, staying up late and not prioritising recovery isn’t okay. You’re a competitor! Don’t expect your first week to be perfect! This will be a trial and error period, where you’re practicing your new routine and where everything fits in for you; and you should also come up with Plans B, C and D, ready for when Plan A doesn’t work out! Importantly - be sure to establish that open communication with your coach - they can’t help you if they don’t know what you’re struggling with! Discipline, organisation, endeavour, establishing habits/routines, strengthening mindset - GO! #icn #icompetetasmania #icompete #icompetenatural #nattyforlife #compprep #stage #bikini #figure #physique #bodybuilding #fitness #fitnessmodel #icompeteaustralia #sportsmodel #shred #shreds #shredz #work #werk #diet #train #training #lift #weights #liftweights #trainhard #trainsmart #icntas #icntasmania

11.01.2022 My name is Sam and I live in Port Sorell, training out of Portside Barbell in Devonport. My prep for season B is 6 weeks long so far under the guidance of my coach, Boris Zivkovic. My decision to compete this year was motivated by my goal to ultimately earn my Pro card. I understand that Rome wasn't built in a day and that if I am to achieve this, experience in prep and on stage is critical. My main aim for this season is to learn as much as I can and expand my capabilities a...s a natural bodybuilder so that I have the best chance of success at ICN Nationals 2021. The biggest challenge for me so far has been maximizing my recovery to maintain the standard of training I've set for myself, but I love the process of learning which strategies personally work best. I've also found the process of setting these standards and meeting them to be the most rewarding part of prep, along with all the lessons and strategies I've discovered along the way to help in the future. I will be entering Mens Physique Novice and Open divisions, plus Mens Classic Physique. The biggest support for me has without a doubt been Boris. His dedication to me not only as a coach but a friend since I signed on with Planet Max 11 months ago is something I honestly struggle to find the words for. Consequently, I’m feeling great about my progress and cant wait to show my all time best 8 weeks from now, to see what my competition brings and to enjoy the battle on stage once again. @sammccall.93_

10.01.2022 17 weeks out! What should you be doing? The first step to a successful first time on stage is to get an excellent coach! Competitors who can coach themselves to the standard required are rare and it removes so much stress if you have a knowledgeable, communicative coach providing diet and training programs for you! When choosing a coach, know yourself - are you someone who can work fully online with your coach or will you need face-to-face check-ins or actual pt sessions as w...ell? This will greatly inform your choice. Some things to consider: * The coach’s competitive reputation and history of success. * The size of their team (will they have enough time to provide really customised personalised diet and training plans and respond in a timely manner to your questions?). * Do their programs take your availability to train into account? I tried a coach once who I found out would have me in the gym every day of the week, usually twice per day for over an hour each time and some days the program took four hours!!! In the off season!! So NOT an option for me! You may have to train more often/harder/differently than you have before but it has to be achievable! * Do you respect the coach? What do previous clients have to say about them? There’ll be times when you don’t feel you can do something but if you respect your coach you’ll never want to let them down. * Do they care about your long term health? * Will they continue to support you and set goals for after the competition? I can’t stress enough that post comp can be a nightmare without great support! You should keep working with your coach for at least a month after your comp. * Can you afford them? * Will they help with your posing, suit selection, tan suggestions, advice on comp day requirements etc or be able to connect you with those who can? * Do they work consistently with natural athletes and never promote drugs or have clients who have failed drug tests? * Do they have extreme Peak Week protocols which could potentially be dangerous (massive water loading or dehydrating, salt manipulation, hours of cardio in sweat suits etc)? If you find the right coach your competition journey will be healthier, happier and more successful!

10.01.2022 Allira has arrived, next on stage

10.01.2022 My name is Ally. I live in Hobart and I train at Zap Kingston. I have been prepping for season B since January 2020 with my coach @celestialfitness at @opti.fit One of the biggest drivers for me to compete in ICN TAS was to step out of my comfort zone and to build confidence - confidence that I could then take into other aspects of my life such as work and relationships. So far the most challenging aspect for me has been trusting the process and the most rewarding aspect has... been seeing my hard work pay off! It’s definitely taken a village to achieve this goal and a village I am forever grateful to have! The biggest gratitude ever to my coach Celeste! Celeste hasn’t just prepped me for a competition, she’s prepped me for the life I’ve always wanted to live and the person I’ve always wanted to be. A massive thank you is owed to my Mum and Dad, Trudy and Adam who have provided nothing but love, encouragement and support throughout this journey and lastly, but by no means least, my mentor (you know who you are ) who has inspired me in so many different ways and taught me to ‘back myself.’ I’m definitely feeling nervous but excited about competing for the first time! Feel free to follow me @allygulliverd

The reason I set this goal to compete is because I'm very interested in the sport of bodybuilding. So far the most challenging aspect for me has been balancing work and training. I'm a tiler, I work hard and I train even harder. I feel the most rewarding aspect is that is has made my life in Tasmania more interesting.... The divisions I will be entering are Men‘s Physique and Men‘s Classic Physique. The biggest support for me has come from my family and friends. I’m feeling so good about competing for the first time.
