21.01.2022 One of the great climbs of this part of the Maritime Alps is the Col de Braus. I have known of this climb for some time and today we rode it along with the Col de la Madone. Throw in some delightful mountain villages and postcard scenery and one barely notices the 35 degree heat. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury and Simon Lusk.

21.01.2022 The Aravis loop from Lake Annecy is one of the most stunning rides in the Alps. Starting on the fabulous bike path, then climbing from Ugine to Hery at 1000m. Next is a pass through the delightful Flumet for one of the best Almond Croissants in France. Capped with the spectacular Aravis summit with magnificent views of Mt Blanc and a blueberry tart (tarte myrtille) that had become legend on our cycling tours. Next stop, the Pyrenees. With Paul Bradbury Jo Rutherford Ray Bradbury

20.01.2022 Arrived in Menton (French Mediterranean) for the start of Icon Tours Maritime and Southern Alps Tour. The Riviera has turned on some scorching weather. Today we climbed the famous Col de la Madone, over to beautiful Peille and then on to La Turbie. Great start and some epic rides to come. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury and Simon Lusk.

20.01.2022 Just celebrating a ride up Monte Semnoz and getting to eat croissants, cheese and ride bikes for the next 2 months. Mmmm a little warmer than Bright right now hey Gordo #iconbiketours #bikelabinc #semnoz #biketour #travel #cycling #holiday @ Semnoz

20.01.2022 Just 48km today, but to say it was packed with quality would be an understatement. Col dAzet followed by a loop full of small farm roads, climbs, descents and mountain villages. Icon Bike Tours Style. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury Helen Hofbauer Tina Keskas Simon Lusk.

19.01.2022 Pyrenees base two, St Lary Soulon. Tough day covering Port de Bales, Col de Peyresourde and Col dAzet. Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury Helen Hofbauer Simon Lusk Tina Kreskas

19.01.2022 Have you ridden in Italy yet? If not why?! Whether you answered yes or no to question 1... this July is your chance for something very different. Be part of a unique tour that combines a training camp in the Piedmont region of the Italian Alps, followed by a 6 day stage event: the Giro delle Dolomiti. Unlike any event you have done before, this is a gran fondo that takes the form of a stage race, where each day includes a mountain time trial section. Your place each day will determine your ranking in the GC. Improve your riding in the Alps and ride in the Giro in the first ever aussie team. Just 10 guests on this tour. We have 2 places left! Contact us now for more information. Link in bio @ Italy

18.01.2022 Passo del Nivolet, Passo Manghen and the Grosse Scheidegg. Three of Europe's most spectacular high passes, less famous perhaps than Stelvio and Alpe d'Huez but unquestionably more beautiful and most definitely as challenging. Ride them all, plus many more with Icon Bike Tours in August. We have a few places left, get in touch now for more information or to secure your spot. https://www.iconbiketours.com/our-tours.html

17.01.2022 The Pyrenees are well known for changeable weather and today we experienced it first hand. After climbing Hautacam in freezing, wet conditions and shivering our way down the descent. We abandoned the rest of our ride to Pont dEspagne and Cambasque. Instead we drove up through Cauterets to Pont dEspagne to see some of the most divine waterfalls, forests and roaring mountain streams on the planet. Sometimes even the bad weather turns things in your favour.... With Gordon Sutherland Ray Bradbury Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Tina Kreskas Helen Hofbauer Simon Lusk.

16.01.2022 The Pyrenees are both a visual feast and the ultimate cycling challenge. Today was plucked from the top shelf in both respects. 112km with 3500m of climbing and a hell of way to kick off the Icon Bike Tours Pyrenees Odyssey for 2019. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury Tina Kreskas Helen Hofbauer and Simon Lusk

14.01.2022 Final day in St Lary Soulan and what a way to finish. Col de Portet, Pla d'Adet & Piau Engaly, wonderful way to finish Icon Bike Tours Pyrenees 2019. With Gordon Sutherland Helen Hofbauer Tina Kreskas Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury and Simon Lusk.

14.01.2022 So now for the Pyrenees. Arrived this afternoon after a 12 hour roadie from Annecy. Two days of recce rides before our first guests for 2019 arrive on Tuesday. Staying in the delightful Argeles Gazost, with access to some of the best climbs in all of the Pyrenees.

14.01.2022 Well that was a mountain stage from the classic days of cycling (last nights Giro stage finish at Lago Serru). No teams controlling the pace, man on man, riders spread all over the mountain pass. There was suffering, heroics and disappointment for some all set against the backdrop of remarkable Piedmont and one of Italys most beautiful climbs, the Colle del Nivolet. In just 6 weeks time we will be climbing it with the Icon Bike Tours crew and unlike the pro riders in the Giro, we WILL be riding the final 7kms to one of the most epic summits in all of Europe. Cant wait!

14.01.2022 Second ride from Vence in the Maritime Alps and the final ride in Europe for our friends Helen and Tina. Despite scorching temperatures, we managed 120km that included the formidable Mont Chauve, which showcases some of the very best views of Nice and the Mediterranean. With Gordon Sutherland Helen Hofbauer Tina Kreskas Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury and Simon Lusk.

13.01.2022 For anyone dreaming of riding their bikes in the mountains of France or Italy this year, We have ONE place left in each of our three tours this year: Pyrenees from June 11 - 23 Southern French Alps from June 26 - July 8 Piedmont and Dolomites in Italy from July 11 - 29... Our tours are all about the riding showcasing a perfect mix of Iconic passes and the roads few ever ride. If you prefer to ride your bike, rather than watch others ride, these tours are for you. Check the Icon Bike Tours website or message us for more details.

13.01.2022 Some of the highlights of this years tour to France. June 26 - July 8, book your place now!

12.01.2022 Passo del Nivolet, Passo Manghen and the Grosse Scheidegg. 12.01.2022 And then the rain came. Spent a few hours deliberating and staring down the rain. Finally made it out to ride the Horquette / Aspin loop. So glad we did. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Helen Hofbauer Tina Keskas.

12.01.2022 Still hot here in Menton but not quite as scorching as yesterday. Headed out to Sospel via the "nine lacets du Menton" and the Col du Castillon. Stopped for breakfast (a second one) in Sospel and then climbed the delightful col de Brouis, 11km at a friendly 5%. With the climbing done (or so we thought), it was time to drop down into Italy for a real coffee. Stumbled across the tiny village of Airole and true to form, the coffee was awesome. One final surprise in store as a "...Bubba special detour" took us up through the tiny village of Verrandi and a 5km climb with multiple sections above 20% This lead us onto a high altitude farm road though vineyards and olive groves (a taste of Tuscany) and although the road surface was a little rough (being generous there), this section was a real highlight. All in all a fantastic day out on the bike. Bring on tomorrow. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury and Simon Lusk

11.01.2022 Have not quite kicked off the tours for 2019, but having a solid warm up in the hills around Lake Annecy. What a stunning place. With Gordon Sutherland Paul Bradbury Jo Rutherford and Ray Bradbury. @iconbiketours #mountainhigh #loveannecy

11.01.2022 Our good friends and clients Brad Sayer, Cindy Robertson and Norm Gofton are currently in Bolzano, Italy, participating in the Giro Delle Dolomiti, a 5 day stage race around the Dolomites. Each day involves riding between 50 and 179km, with a timed section on one of the key climbs of the day (around 9 to 15km). In addition to riding each day in the beautiful Dolomites and enjoying a mountain top lunch and gelato, riders accumulate points in their age groups and have a chance ...for a podium at the end of the event. With rolling road closures, food stops Italian style and a chance to chat to people from all over the world, it is a mix of gran fondo riding and racing all in the one event! Yesterday was Stage 3 and the crew worked hard. After 179km including the Val Gardena and Passo Sella with a 10km mountain time trial on the Fedaia, Brad is holding steady in 15th place in a very competitive field, Norm in 3rd place (he has 9 seconds on 4th place so a little pressure for Thursday) and Cindy holding 3rd place with a minute to spare from 4th place. The weather was riding and picture perfect. A well deserved rest day today with two more challenging stages on Thursday and Friday. We are cheering for you guys!

11.01.2022 Beyond the Bucket Lists! Anyone who caught the recent Paris-Nice stage race will have seen some of the epic cycling roads that sit "behind the Tour". Come and experience the tranquility, challenge and un-matched beauty of the Southern and Maritime Alps. Imagine having all of the magnificence of Stelvio, Galibier, Tourmalet, then take away the thousands of tourists, cars, motor bikes and souvenir shops. Welcome to the Southern / Maritime Alps, this is why we ride!... Get in touch to secure your place, June 26-July 8 #worldsbestcyclingroads #frenchcyclinggems #whyweride @iconbiketours

10.01.2022 My mum always said that swearing was a sign that one had reached the limit of their vocabulary. Today I swore a bit as I ran out of words. Col de Tentes and Col de Troumouse. Just Wow! With Gordon Sutherland Ray Bradbury Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Simon Lusk Tina Keskas and Helen Hofbauer.

09.01.2022 The passes of the Swiss Alps offer everything that their more famous French and Italian neighbours do; spectacular glacier-filled scenery and switcbacks that go on forever. Imagine all this with pristine road surfaces that feel like they were made for a road bike. In August this year you can imagine no longer as Icon Bike Tours guides you through not only the best Switzerland has to offer but adds both Piedmont (Italy) and the Austrian Alps as well. Just four places left. www.iconbiketours.com/our-tours

09.01.2022 Icon Euro Tours for 2019 are now closed. If you were unable to commit this year but would like to know more about the 2020 tours, please drop us a message. For those travelling to Italy and/or France with us this year, we cannot wait to get started.....see you soon.

09.01.2022 Raising the Bar at Alpenbrevet. Limited to just 2500 lucky starters, with multiple courses to suit most riding levels, Alpenbrevet showcases the perfect Swiss road surfaces and sublime scenery that simply cannot be matched anywhere else on earth. Marvel at the massive Stein Glacier as you... summit the Susten Pass then smile your way down the 24km descent to Innertkirchen. Come and ride the GOLD course Alpenbrevet (172km / 5290m) with Icon Bike Tours this August, entry is guaranteed in our tour package, along with two weeks of riding passes in Italy's Dolomites and Piedmont (think Finestre, Nivolet, Zoncolan and many more) . 08.01.2022 Spending a few days in Vence (Maritime Alps). Great town, super riding. With Helen Hofbauer Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury Tina Keskas Gordon Sutherland and Simon Lusk.

08.01.2022 Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton and Brad Sayer have been part of our cycling family for many years now. I have been very fortunate to share their cycling journey and feel lucky to list these three fine humans as my friends. Last week each competed in the Giro Delle Dolomiti, part gran fondo, part very competitive stage race, set in the Dolomites. This event has been running for more than 40 years and attracts some of the very best amateur cyclists in Europe. I am very proud to re...port that at the conclusion of the six day event: Norm finished an amazing second in his age group, Cindy climbed like a demon and took third, Whilst Brad finished 15th in the events most competitive age group and well inside the top 50 overall. Brilliant results, richly deserved. " Chapeau"

08.01.2022 The Col du Tourmalet is the most climbed pass in Tour history. Today we climbed it from Luz Saint Sauveur and added the magnificent "Laurent Fignon" detour. Not quite content with that, we then tackled another tour legend in Luz Ardiden. As is our style, we took the far lesser known route via Viscos. Another day for the emotional scrapbook, 112km / 3070m. Superb! With Gordon Sutherland Ray Bradbury Helen Hofbauer Tina Kreskas Simon Lusk and Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton

08.01.2022 A day exploring this remarkable corner of the Pyrenees. This place has a magic and charm that is impossible to capture in words, so I will let the photos have a go. The tour starts here on Tuesday and our guests are in for a real treat.

07.01.2022 Amazing, the beauty you see on a 40km "recovery ride". Icon Bike Tours Pyrenees Day Three With Gordon Sutherland Ray Bradbury Tina Kreskas Helen Hofbauer Simon Lusk Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton

07.01.2022 One more amazing guest saw the light and booked our Italy tour last night. That leaves one (maybe two at a pinch!) place left on our 18 day tour to Piemonte and the Dolomites this July. Our Italian Alps Training camp plus the Giro Della Dolomite stage race will make you one happy, fit, and gastromically satisfied cyclist! Get in touch now before the tour shuts off very soon! Call or message us for more information Bubba

06.01.2022 Fourth day in a row with temperatures in the mid 30s, even at 6:30am, it was 30 degrees. So we opted for a recovery spin along the coast to San Remo in Italy (coffee of course). Found some brilliant new bike path infrastructure and then rode the legendary "Poggio di San Remo". A little easier for us than for the Pros who rip up after 287km in the first classic of the season, "Milan San Remo". Quick fact. The Poggio is 3.6km at a modest average of 4%. Today I rode it in the ...big ring at about 85% and averaged 23kmh. The Strava KOM is Mikel Kwiatkowski (Team Ineos) who averaged 38.4kmh (after 6 hours of racing) in this years race. Phenomenal! Tomorrow, Col de Turini. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Ray Bradbury

05.01.2022 BikeLab does triathlon. Amanda Kyneur Michelle Cooke and Kirsty Wright ripping up the corporate team event at the Luke Harrop Triathlon at the Broadwater this morning. Cracking morning, fantastic event. #cyclingtotriathlon #theeventcrew

03.01.2022 Another morning spent waiting out the rain. Then a spectacular ride up the "Route du Grand Lacs" to Lac de Cap de Long and Lac dAubert, both well over 2100m. Just stunning! With Gordon Sutherland Helen Hofbauer Tina Keskas Ray Bradbury Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Simon Lusk

01.01.2022 And then the rain came. After a few hours of deliberation and long attempts to stare down the rain, we headed out to ride the Hourquette dAncizan and the Col dAspin. So glad we did. With Gordon Sutherland Cindy Norm Robertson Gofton Tina Keskas and Helen Hofbauer.
