23.01.2022 The team at Icon lovingly remember the life and legacy of our friend, Damian ‘Griffo’ Griffin, whose passion for raising awareness and much needed funds for cancer research influenced so many of us. Damian had a way of engaging everyone with his positive spirit, infectious laughter, and his endless commitment to the promotion and support of brain cancer research. His relentless motivation spanned more than 7 years of community events that we were honoured to be a part of alo...ngside him. Griffo remained a tower of strength, supported by the ever-loving Lou, the Griffin family and large group of friends, as he continued to brave his own cancer while always giving 110% to help thousands of others in their fight now, and into the future. Not only did Griffo’s efforts increase awareness for the many others still fighting, but we will be forever grateful for excess of $800,000 that he raised for Icon Cancer Foundation and Cure Brain Cancer. Thank you, Griffo for your support and your never-ending friendship. Your legacy will forever be invincible.

09.01.2022 Icon Cancer Foundation in collaboration with Aspire Fitness & Rehabilitation, QUT Improving Health Outcomes for People and Newro Foundation are running a trial that looks at the role exercise has on people with brain cancer. The BRACE study is currently recruiting patients who have received a diagnosis of primary brain cancer aged 18 and over. Participants will be provided with their own exercise physiologist who will work with patients over over an 18-week intervention. 02.01.2022 This week we've been celebrating International Clinical Trials Day through an awareness campaign. Patients and staff have been writing down what clinical trials means to them. At head office, we also ran a 'guess the jelly beans' competition asking staff to think about how many patients we've recruited and how many trials we've participated in over the last five years. On Clinical Trials Day we would like to say thank you to everyone who helps make our work possible - thank y...ou to our trials patients, doctors, nurses, care teams, data managers, coordinators, and everyone who works behind the scenes to ensure we continue to provide quality clinical trials and access to research to more people. The Foundation has grown continuously and is now one of the nation's largest private providers of clinical trials offering trials across medical oncology, haematology and radiation oncology, we currently have over 300 patients on an active trial and last year launched our first Phase I trial. We look forward to continuing to provide access to clinical trials and contributing the breakthroughs and advancing cancer treatments. #clinicaltrialsday See more
