15.01.2022 Many thanks to Patrick Louis Soosay of Harris Park Community Centre for hosting our Chess n Chai service. The introduction session had 10 participants- just enough with Social Distancing. Starting with a Chai tasting which had not one but two winners Hari & Dinesh, we can safely say was a success. Moving to the more formal part we used playing chess moves as an individual in pairs and then two teams to explore the art of communication & collaboration. All within the confine...s of roles (chess pieces) with limited moves (decisions). Next session we look more closely at the roles and how they apply in the make up of our attitudes regarding gender stereotypes. And there will be more Chess to play...

01.01.2022 The post-mortem found: She had a three centimetre bruise near her hairline. She had a contusion on her eyelid A forensic pathologist believed made by two different blunt force impacts. She called 000 on the day just before the incident.... He had made multiple threats to harm her. He went to see her family in India to tell them he could kill her and get away with it. She wanted to leave him She wanted to divorce him. He just walked away acquitted and we have to respect the The Australian justice system. A great day for his barrister, who not only put up some interesting theories but succeeded in flipping a jury for her client. Money well spent by him. Just one last thought... the man who had such a hard time letting is wife have even a little money for herself; he sure seemed flush for his own defence. Was that money she earned? While justice seems to have let Parminder Kaur down, there are plenty of people who will never forget what he did to her, from the day he married her. #RIP #ParminderKaur #ViolenceAgainstWomen #MigrantWomen #Safety4Women
