22.01.2022 So what's the big IDEA? IDEA was formed by a group of educators, entrepreneurs and parents driven by a desire to create a new education experience for young people in WA. 16.01.2022 Meet IDEA co-founder, Michael. He commenced work as an English teacher in 2005 and soon became involved in career development through the task of mapping VET and school curriculum to prepare students for transitions into apprenticeships. The focus on curating learning experiences to develop each students’ unique strengths and interests in preparation for life beyond school resonated with Michael and engaged him to undertake further learning in vocational psychology and career development. Michael is an innovative educator with an interest in how systems and design thinking can enhance the educational process to ensure every learner is developing self-confidence and making progress towards their future goals and aspirations. He is also an avid BBQer: hot and fast or low and slow.

15.01.2022 A recent survey of 1400 parents and teachers found that high pressure to do well in exams and assessments and online bullying through social media networks were seen as the top two challenges for high school students. How are schools supporting young people with these issues? Download the full report here: https://educationfuture.com.au

12.01.2022 "IDEA were instrumental in my early entry to Curtin University. They provided options for me to look into, facilitated key meetings and guided me in the development of my applications with an above-and-beyond approach. The team at IDEA prioritise understanding you. What makes you tick, what you are great at, what frustrates you and identifying what incredible opportunities are out there that you may be ready to take. They are leading the way for the future of education, where co-design and personalised pathways are the norm.

11.01.2022 By now most people have heard of the Sustainable Development Goals. At IDEA, the #SDGs underpin our values and help to shape student experience. We want to equip young people with the tools to solve the complex challenges we are facing in Australia and globally.

09.01.2022 Meet IDEA Co-Founder, Nicole Gazey. Nicole's interest in IDEA was sparked from her personal experience as a mother and her work in education and training over the past 15 years. Nicole provides strategic advice and leadership at state and national levels on matters relating to VET, secondary education and policy. She is a strong advocate for providing young people access to opportunities that prepare them to thrive and adapt to an ever-changing world.... When she's not busy innovating, Nicole can be found digging up dirt and planting veggies in her back garden which she shares with a brood of chickens and two chilled out Border Collies.

02.01.2022 When we say the future of education what do YOU think? #PerthsBigIDEA

02.01.2022 Meet IDEA co-founder Rebecca. Rebecca loved her work as a high school science teacher, but was disheartened by the number of students she met who felt bored, frustrated and defeated by the current system (or maybe her teaching nooo!). She enrolled in a PhD focussed on innovation and systems change in education and has led a number of projects, talking about, thinking about, prototyping and testing what the future of education might look like. After 10 years in the system, it was time to DO something... and here we are! Rebecca hails from Galway in Ireland - Ed Sheeran-promoted stereotypes apply.

01.01.2022 What kinds of programs help accelerate young people's transition to full-time work? A longitudinal study compiled by Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) found that building enterprise skills (communication, problem solving and teamwork) resulted in young people transitioning to full-time work 17 months faster. 5000 hours of relevant paid employment accelerated the transition by 12 months, and paid employment in a future-focused cluster (e.g. technologists, artisans, or carers) accelerated the transition by 5 months. Check out the New Work Order series at fya.org.au
