19.01.2022 DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND... ...we are trialing a 6pm adults group class on Monday and Tuesday nights from next Monday 25 January until Tuesday 30 January. Long story short, over the past few months we have received a good number of enquiries from people who finish work too late to make it to our regular 5pm class. In response we're going to trial a 6pm class two days per week for the next two months. All being well we'll then keep these classes and look to add more on other day...s. If you've ever looked at our group classes and wished there was a later class on a weekday then now is your chance to prove to us that we should need a 6pm class long term! 16.01.2022 This is a tuck pop up. It’s like a muscle up in that you use it to get on top of a horizontal bream like a bar or tree branch. Unlike the muscle up however, it works in more situations. Muscle ups typically get much harder as the beam becomes thicker. Tuck pop ups do as well, but not as quickly. There are multiple different ways you could build up to do the tuck pop up. What matters is that you have a logical progression (it could be this one or it could be another) to build ...strength in one movement and then change to another that is slightly closer to your end goal. Give this progression a try. Stick at it. Be consistent. Get good at one option then move onto the next. With patience your tuck pop up will come. Note this progression assume that you can already do a pull up. 07.01.2022 Learning the scissor vault. The scissor vault is an enticing movement to learn. The fluidity and 'float' felt in the movement when perform well is addictive. The problem with the scissor vault however is how to learn it safely. The technique is dynamic and hence the risk presented by a fall is not unsubstantial. Your first full attempt is a step into the unknown.... One important part of learning the scissor vault is of course to learn to fall safely, just in case you do muck it up. In this drill we obtain extra support from the top bar and use it stabilise ourselves while practising the leg movement. The drill has much of the feel of the real thing, without the risk of catching a foot and falling.
