24.01.2022 Idyllic Hills Wines will join the fun this Sunday, September 13, 10 - 2. C U there

23.01.2022 Winter time at the Murrumbateman Village Market. How about roast beef, lamb or pork with farm fresh vegies topped off with a fruity local wine and followed by a slice of cake? It's all available at the market this Saturday.

23.01.2022 A pre-loved outfit with 90s pizzazz that's guaranteed to win you compliments - yes! Vintage also refers to the year that the grapes were picked and fermented. I...t's the year you'll see on the label of a bottle of wine. Knowing the vintage is important because each year is a little bit different - some years are hotter, colder, rainier, more affected by drought or hail, or in the case of 2020... well, let's not go there . All these things contribute to the taste of the wine. In Australia, we also use "vintage" as a synonym for the harvest period. "I'm off to work vintage in the Barossa, brb!" There are "good" vintages and "bad" vintages. A bad vintage doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a bad wine, it just means it was slightly more challenging year for the winemaker. So if you're buying a wine from a so-called bad vintage just make sure it's one from an experienced winemaker and winery you trust.

23.01.2022 The Board of Support Act is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably experienced people to be considered for appointment to the Board of Directors. S...upport Act is Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music. We do this in 2 ways. First, via our Crisis Relief Service, which provides short term funding for essential services. The second, is our Wellbeing Helpline. 23.01.2022 You love Idyllic Hills Wines - so does Mickey

22.01.2022 Have you seen this in The Canberra Times this morning? And a huge shout out to all wineries involved: Contentious Characters, Barton Estate, Lake George winery, Four Winds, Sholto, Idyllic Hills, Gallagher, Enotria, Surveyors Hill, McKellar Ridge, Shut the Gate.

21.01.2022 Good News / Bad News As you know we did not harvest this year, due to smoke taint. Consequently we have now sold all our beautiful 2019 Cabernet Rose' and delicious 2019 Viognier. That's the bad news. However, we still have plenty of reds available (they have been barrel-aged before release), and we anticipate a fantastic harvest that will enable us to release 2021 Viognier and 2021 Rose' mid next year.... That's the good news. See more

17.01.2022 Feedback like this makes my day! "I very much appreciated that you didn't make it 'snobby' and catered to those who like to drink wine because they like it, not... because they know why they like it... "Again thank you for your time, expertise, knowledge and general insight into the making and drinking of wine." Thank you, Tamie, for making it to my introductory wine class last weekend! I just love sharing and discovering wine appreciation and Canberra wines with the group, and (restrictions-depending) I'm looking forward to the next!

15.01.2022 Idyllic Hills Wines - in Murrumbateman We harvested NO grapes this year, due to smoke taint. We are, however, holding on. 13.01.2022 I thoroughly enjoyed the wine appreciation class! I loved that it was not pretentious and catered to differing levels of knowledge. It was great to start at the... basics and we could ask all sorts of questions that you don’t often get to do at the cellar door! I loved pairing the wines with food and seeing the difference it made! I can’t wait for the next one! Thanks so much Emma! See more

01.01.2022 MEDIA RELEASE What: Murrumbateman Moving Feast Where: Artisan Businesses and Wineries in the Murrumbateman Region Planned: Saturday and Sunday 3-4 October 2020 ...Web: www.makersofmurrumbateman.org.au Cancellation of the 2020 Murrumbateman Moving Feast For 14 years the ‘Makers of Murrumbateman’ have been delivering to the Murrumbateman region, the very influential festival event ‘The Murrumbateman Moving Feast’ (MMF). The event has grown enormously since commencing in 2006, over the journey showcasing the region’s finest wines, fresh local produce and artisan products. On the doorstep of the nation’s Capital, this event has always been a unique opportunity for locals and visitors to explore the area, and meet the passionate business operators who have established their backyard as home to some of the world’s best wines and products. To this end, and to protect the integrity of this fantastic event, the ‘Makers of Murrumbateman’ (MoM) have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 MMF due to COVID-19 restrictions. Greg Birch, MoM president said, the obvious nature of the current COVID-19 environment does not allow MoM to plan, support and operate the MMF without significant risk to patrons, operators and staff. Given continuing community transmission of the disease, associated event restrictions and border closures; the MMF operated in the historical format, represents risk for a high frequency of uncontrollable contacts resulting in unintentional community transitions of COVID-19. As such, the responsible MoM action is to not conduct the MMF. However, Greg went on to say, that although the MoM sponsored MMF was not being held, a number of venues would still be operating across the long weekend with a range of various offerings that suited their individual capacity and circumstances, as dictated by COVID-19 restrictions. Patrons planning to visit the Murrumbateman area over this October long weekend, should look to directly contact individual business in order to establish what is being offered and the restrictions that will apply to any specific venue. A program of individual venue events will be available at www.makersofmurrumbateman.org.au or the MoM Facebook page and/or by phoning individual venues. Greg finished by adding that patrons should note that MoM has now turned attention to the planning of a successful 2021 MMF event.
