19.01.2022 The annual Australian Robotics and Automation Conference (ACRA) will be held 8-10 December virtually. It is hosted by the CSIRO's Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group based in Brisbane, QLD. This is an annual event that attracts a large student audience who would typically publish their first robotics paper in this conference. This would be a great opportunity to promote IEEE and CS/RAS membership. https://research.csiro.au/robotics/acra2020/ The proposal is to provide a be...st paper awards by way of free IEEE + CS/RAS student membership for the student authors of the paper. Since the best paper is not announced yet, we don't know the exact number of authors. We would like to request up to $250 to cover this cost. IEEE student membership is $27 IEEE RAS student membership is $5 IEEE CSS student membership is $13 Depending on the number of authors, we can provide multi-year membership. The IEEE QLD logo will be displayed on the Zoom virtual background and other electronic media related to the conference in recognition of this award sponsoring. Given it is the end of the year, upon approval by the current/incoming committee we are happy to bear the cost personally and get reimbursed in the next calendar year if that makes more sense financially.
