The man behind the label, @barrio.lindo is somewhat this folklore. Originally from Argentina, but heart and head travels the world like no other being. Compilations and releases from his label ...have gone beyond the downtempo genre. It’s music that represent a the traditional custodians of Latin America infused with technology for the service of mind expansion. To bring Barrio Lindo to this shores for the first time, it’s an honour, but we also feel proud as fuck to believe in culture as way to convey union and understanding of how unique and we all are. 15.01.2022 I have been living in Sydney for 15 years now. Beyond all the ups and downs, this city gave me an unique opportunity, which is working with music. There has been many stories and some people/crews that were key along this journey. Mogo Bush Beats, @eastside89.7fm @afrobrasilianasoundsystem @tiagodelucca @subsonicmusic and countless venues that believed in weird authentic global music. Also, all the local musicians and DJs I had the chance to see playing and made me think I co...uld express my feelings behind the decks, organisIng events or through Vibez radio show for 11 years. About three years ago I convinced @walking.fish @venx69 and Max Alberts to believe in the music, community and beyond all, in ourselves as the purveyors of something unique and genuine to our identities. 3 years later we are here pushing music, vibes and experiences that goes beyond partying. For us it’s about culture, politics, society and mind expansion. The whole point of putting it out here is to say that mixagi is about community. It’s about real people going day in, day out, guided by music and the forever kick it gives to you. I will get this opportunity to also say that none of this would be possible without ongoing patience of my partner in life @marinafreri who has put up with the worst, but also the best of me for half of my time here. Also, @omkali78 @gadsby and @chocomaria all incredible women who I give my eternal thank you for putting up with us, it’s all crazy at times, but I feel super proud to have your support on a crazy idea that is pushing underground music in a city with great potential, but still building it’s own identity.
