12.01.2022 A big week of meeting with fire-affected communities as part of Phase 2 of the Inquiry into the 2019-20 Victorian Bushfires. In this Phase we are examining Victoria’s relief and recovery response to the fires including its relationship with Commonwealth recovery processes. It is still very raw and emotional for those we met this week and the impact of COVID can’t be underestimated. Thank you to residents of Sarsfield, Benambra, Cann River, Goongerah and Lake Tyers for being so generous with your time and your willingness to recount your experiences. We will be continuing to meet with communities face-to-face over the next few months before wrapping up the Inquiry in June.
