In June this year, Jesse conquered riding for the first time without training wheels and now in October he has already exceeded his 82km goal in the MS Sydney to Gong (virtual challenge). 05.01.2022 ALERT: Great News Story written by Igknight mentor Luigi Palermo Another day and another amazing ride organised by the igKnight mentors to celebrate Scotts special day. The various mentor teams commenced their day from different locations and planned to meetup to have lunch and birthday cake as well as a game of Twenty20 cricket. Carol and Luigi planned a tandem ride starting from Mangerton and after some short steep hills to warmup the legs, they headed south along the cyc...leway adjacent to Springhill Road to meetup with Fred, Dave and Scott. The ride pace was steady as Carol was getting back into the pedaling rhythm after a short absence from the bike. Once Carol and Luigi arrived in Port Kembla, they bumped into the boys and they all turned and headed for North Wollongong beach under dark skies. After a swift ride to Wollongong (the tandem having double the horse power plus a handy tailwind), the south team converged at Stuart Park with the north team consisting of Jim, Lisa, Toby, Jayden and Aiden. After a short lunch break and lots of friendly banter targeted at Fred as well as a special appearance by Janet, Elizia and the sun, it was time for Scott to blow out the candles and enjoy birthday cake which was yummo!! Then time for a game of cricket and always, the male ego was front and centre and it was on for young and old. Toby providing the mandatory cricket streaker but fully clothed, thanks Toby. And a special mention to Dave who claimed most of the wickets with his fast bowling. After the match was declared, it was time to depart with the majority of the team heading north to provide Scott with a birthday ride to remember. Carol and Luigi headed back south to tackle the dreaded uphill finish to Mangerton. The task made easy by recalling how enjoyable and memorable the days ride was for Scott and all others that participated. Cycle Tours NSW

03.01.2022 For the first time researchers are consulting adults with severe intellectual disabilities to design an all ages and all-abilities playground.

03.01.2022 In addition to post 18.3.20: Igknight is supporting our exisiting members using social distancing and infection control. We have completed the Australian Government online infection control training. We are providing NDIS 1:1 support as needed for:... *essential shopping (especially for those who are in isolation from positive test, waiting a test result or self isolating because of immune compromise) *doctor appointments *revised recreation activity in low populated outdoor areas only (e.g. walk or cycle) - especially for those who have NDIS funding for mental health challenges, also for those who are isolated with limited friends or family. *phone calls or online audio visual chats if you need to stay connected *1:1 in-home support e.g. gentle exercise, meal prep and small house keeping jobs - where needed and when everyone is well. *We are following the guidelines from NSW government with the interpretation that we can transport one person in a vehicle in the back seat diagonal opposite the driver for essential supports. At this time we are happy to discuss support for new participants after a consultation with Support Co and/ or participant/ trusted nominee. We will keep updating our Facebook page. Emails will be sent to exisiting members.
