Weve learnt A LOT Weve added equipment (and a lot more mats) and changed our training. Added babies and watched children grow Built outdoor rigs and places to climb We have rallied together and raised an incredible amount for some charities close to our hearts including over $1700 for Small Steps 4 Hannah and DVConnect along with polished man. We have attended several real movement and Farm gym experiences, not to mention our in house Ignite challenges, Crossfit open competitions, spartan races and obstacle hell to name a few. Weve painted walls and knocked down others. Weve ripped up flooring and added a sled track...... then everything came to a halt. We kept going and began an online program and equipment rental. . . Youve learned the lingo (AMRAP, thrusters, Veronica ) How can you do these (sometimes insane) workouts and not lose weight? The answer: The foundation is nutrition. .... . Those bodies youve been admiring werent built just by burpees, but also by something far more mundane: high-quality whole foods in appropriate quantities. Meat and vegetables , nuts and seeds, some fruit , little starch, and no sugar. . . As much as you might want someone to lay out a meal plan for you and give you exactly what meal to eat when- that seldom leads to long-term weight management. It wasnt until I educated myself on what I was actually eating that I learned how to make adjustments and decisions that allowed me to achieve my goals. . . Do you know what you ate yesterday? Do you know exactly how much you ate? Do you know how many grams of protein, carbs and fat? If youve never tracked your food, it can be a bit time consuming in the beginning, but a couple of basic tools will shorten the learning curve. All you need is a food scale, an account on a site such as MyFitnesspal (the free app works just fine) and a commitment to recording everything you eat and drink. Every bite and every sipat least for a while. . . When you are ready to adjust your calories down after a period of tracking, youll likely decide pretty quickly to give up or limit high-calorie, low-nutrition foods. Soda and sugary snacks and desserts, chips, deep-fried whateverwhen you see the caloric impact they have on your diet, you will be moved to switch things up. . . Whatever direction your newfound knowledge takes you, it will be an improvement. Before you know it, youll be filling your fridge with fruits and veggies and gorgeous cuts of meat . Youll create vibrant and colorful plates of food. Im not saying youll never have a slice of chocolate cake again. Im not even saying youll never have a weekend defined by pizza and beer. 07.01.2022 To our Ignite community To some of you, this announcement will come as a complete shock but please know that it was not one that we came to easily, nor was it made in haste. It was something that we thought long and hard about and have agonized over for weeks. We want to thank those of you that continued to supported us throughout this hard time. ... However, the past ten weeks have allowed us a chance to reassess our future. We have been personal training and providing small group training for over 5 years, with the last 2 and 1/2 dedicated to growing Ignite as a gym community. We are proud to have delivered more than just a workout of the day, but providing many personalized and detailed programs and options to cater for injuries, pregnancy, postpartum. We have also offered Real Movement and Farm Gym experiences as well as emotional support, help with rehabilitation, mobility and eased many of our members back and knee pain, allowing them to do things they never thought possible. However, the season for us is changing, and although Ignite and fitness will always be our passion, at this stage our focus is our 3 daughters. So, for now Ignite will be taking a break. Again, we thank you for your support and understanding. Brett, Megs and our family.

Yes, you will have days when you are ON! And your energy is high. You hit those hard workouts and feel amazing. Then, there will be the days you feel heavy and slow. Your energy is depleted. These are the days when you need to be positive. Just keep moving. Heavy weight of high intensity arent what you need on those days, but dont give up. Dont make that an excuse. Honor your body and move in a way that helps you. Walk outside. Stretch. Meditate.
