22.01.2022 Here is a healthier option for pizza, grain free. 1 large zuccini grated 1 tbls almond meal 1 egg... 1 handful grated cheese Pinch salt and pepper optional. Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Turn oven on to 180 C. Place baking paper on pizza base then place mixture on tray and spread out with a falk in a nice round shape about 5mm thick. Place in oven and cook for 15min or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with your favourite pizza ingredients. Pop back in the oven until ready. Serves 2 with a side salad.

17.01.2022 I doubt myself all the time, I was injured and stopped lifting... In 2001 I competed in the 48kg division for powerlifting in the Australian championships, this competition would turn out to be my last!! At the age of 34 I was in the best shape of my life, strong, fit and invincible, so I thought! ... My first major competition, I was nervous and excited at the same time, there was a team of us heading down to the Gold Coast from Townsville, this was all new to me. The morning of the competition I went for a run and sustained from eating or drinking as I had to weigh in on or under my weight division. I was relieved to weigh in at 47.7kg After eating and re-hydrating I headed off to the change room to suit up! Now if you have ever seen the one piece suit that you have to squeeze your body into you will know what Im talking about, this is almost an impossibility! If not for the two big guys that held the suit while I literally jumped into from a height, I would never have gotten into it! I was called up at around 11am to start my first lift. Powerlifting requires 3 lifts, bench press, deadlift and squat and you get 3 chances for each lift. The squat was my strength, first lift was 107.5kg which was at the time the record held in Australia for my weight division, my PB was 105kg, I did the lift confidently. The 2nd lift was the big one I was attempting to break the Australian record. NO PRESSURE! They loaded the bar to 110kg which may not sound that much for you bigger boys and girls but this was a big deal for me who is only 5ft and under 48kg. My coach who was also my boss and fellow competitor whispered in my ear, youve got this Von! I stepped under the bar, the room was quiet, officials all around me, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and pulled on my super hero strength, you know that strength we find within ourselves in moments of greatness. And BOOM!!! I did the squat and drove that bar up with pure determination. I did it, I broke the Australian record, I then went on to my 3rd lift 112kg which was not recorded as a successful lift for some technical fault. From that one lift I was invited to compete in the world championships in Germany! It wasnt until the next morning that I realised I was in a lot of pain, could barely get out of bed, I had severe pain in my back, I was staying with family so they did what they could to make me as comfortable as possible, the pain lasted 4 days and then started to ease. I decided that day that this was not what I wanted to put my body through again so I chose not to take the opportunity to compete in the world championships. Do I regret this decision? Absolutely not!!! Why am I sharing this story with you now? I guess its to share apart of me and my life and how I got into the profession I am in today! I love heavy lifting and how it transforms body composition, and I still train heavy to this day! If you would like to learn more about transforming your body, hit me up here!

Many of my clients have felt this way and by implementing a few things into your m...orning routine can set you up for a fantastic day! Here are my top 7 things to set you up for a great day! 1) Gratitude - before you get out of bed, smile and say out loud 5 things that you are grateful for, this will send a signal to your brain to feel good. 2) Make your bed - this May sound obvious but it has been proven that people who make their bed start their day with a feeling of achievement and this will carry through for the rest of the day 3) Lemon water - drink a warm glass of lemon water, this will kick start your metabolism and digestion and help with detoxifying digestive tract and liver. 4) Stay unplugged- if your phone is the first thing you look at when you wake up you will be doing yourself a miss justice, this puts you in a reactive mindset instead of a proactive mindset. 5) Meditate - even if it is only for 5 minutes, set your intentions for the day - your day will run so much smoother and you will deal with situations on a whole other level. 6) Exercise- we all know that exercise releases feel good hormones even if it is a short walk, great time to do your mediation and daily intentions if you are short on time. 7) Breakfast - and dont forget a nourishing breakfast!
