25.01.2022 Today's visit to RAW . An incredible grassroot organisation we have the privilege to walk alongside for 6 years now. Their mission is to celebrate the uniqueness & aspirations of multicultural women....through gardening, storytelling, crafts & cooking. . "Women don't need help, it created helplessness... women need support." @Mariamissaofficial

17.01.2022 Who, what or where is Nether Wallop? It's a special place for Jane, and she told ABC Melbourne about the crazy capers there, all those years ago. https://www.abc.net.au//jane-tewson-on-the-nether/12631760

12.01.2022 We were deeply moved by our recent visit to @backtrackyouthworks - Even as the smoke from the devastating fires settles over Armidale, the #Backtrack team continue to push boundaries and provide life saving support to young people doing it tough. The track you hear was composed and performed by the #backtrackboys under the guidance of @francesca_andreoni Thanks to @sarahljessup for the footage

12.01.2022 A fantastic review here for this inspiring book - "The Art Of Pollination: A Year with The Irrepressible Jane Tewson" by Martin Flanagan. "...this entrancing bo...ok has the power to transform those it touches. Read it and be changed for good!" It was The Pick Of The Week in The Age on the weekend. https://bit.ly/39f4agw

11.01.2022 Our artist-in-residence #craftivist @talfitzpatrick has just returned from a visit to @backtrackyouthworks in Armidale. Here is a little of what she had to say about the trip: When @bernieshakeshaft invited me to create an artwork that tells the story of #BackTrack I knew it was important to make sure the young people had the chance to be part of the making process. After all, this is their story and as the @Igniting_change motto goes: nothing about us without us! I’m so glad I did - listening to what #BackTrack means to these young people is something that everyone who is curious about how to support at-risk youth needs to hear. Hopefully my artwork will help tell part of that story. #seethepersonnotthelabel #ignitingchange #nothingaboutuswithoutus @ Armidale, New South Wales

10.01.2022 Jane is visiting @backtrackyouthworks today, this is a photo of what the road just out front of the BackTrack shed it looks like right now, plus a screenshot of the #firesnearme app. Jane reflects: I’ve seen and lived famine and drought - never anything like I witnessed flying into #ArmidaleNSW last night... the country is on fire, water running out and there appears to be no relief in sight. These are not ‘normal’ bushfires and recovering from this fire season (which is only just beginning) will take communities around the country years. Solidarity at times like these means really listening to those affected and reflecting on the small ways each of us can show our support/effect change. This is what we will be doing in the weeks, months and years to come. @ Armidale, New South Wales

08.01.2022 We applaud BBC presenter Emily Maitlis @officiallymaitlis who debunked the myth, in no uncertain terms, that the Coronavirus is a great leveller It was so succinct and powerful, at a time when the media, like us all, is struggling to make sense of these strange and challenging times. It deserves multiple views.

08.01.2022 Thank you @jimmygrants and @madeestablishment for your incredible effort helping the guys from @stkildapcyc give their youth house a makeover . @igniting_change by combining extraordinary lives . @stkildapcyc

08.01.2022 You may or may not recognise that straight shooting gaze on the front cover of Martin Flanagan’s latest book - but here’s the spoiler alert: it’s our Jane Tewson. Martin spent a year with Jane, meeting the people and feeling the issues. The result is a rich tapestry of the life and times of Igniting Change and some wonderful stories from Jane’s life in the UK. Igniting Change chair Peter Scott describes the Art of Pollination as a defiant gesture of hope and isn’t that what we all need right now? The Art of Pollination is on sale at all good booksellers, and if your local doesn’t have it, ask them to stock it for the good of all.

05.01.2022 The joy and optimism on the face of Rosa Vessaghi bely the tragedies she has had to overcome as a former prisoner interned because of her faith. Now making a new life in this country, it's our absolute privilege to share in the extraordinary work she does with others also seeking a new start and a place to contribute to and belong.

04.01.2022 We are proud to be walking alongside the BANH Neighbourhood Houses for the past few years, and being able to support great projects like their food security program! A special thanks to all our dedicated volunteers that have been sourcing, sorting and delivering food packages since the virus hit

03.01.2022 "Sewing needles were put down as we flipped through the pages. Reading. Looking. Remembering the etching workshop that is captured in the words and pictures. Finding each other in the pages. Photos. Stories. Our stories. We all carried one (or two or three!) home with us to share with our families. And now we can share them with our big extended family. Thank you Igniting Change..." . We are thrilled to see the Yarrenyty Arltere Artists loving the Desert Mother's book we have catalysed

03.01.2022 We learnt these harrowing statistics from the incredible Erika Gregory. . Today, 14,000 nuclear weapons are in the hands of nine nations; lots are hundreds of times more powerful than those dropped on Hiroshima or Nagasaki. America and Russia hold 92 per cent of nuclear weapons, with many ready to launch in 15 minutes. . She warned: In the US, the President has the sole right to press the nuclear button without consulting any other person...... . @virginunite . 02.01.2022 To learn your country, start learning it's aboriginal names! . "They show how deeply and intimately our old people knew the land, how much they loved and respected the country. It's something we should all be proud of." - historian Bruce Pascoe . Read the full article here http://ow.ly/7u9550kjdH5

01.01.2022 Whichever way you read about it, print or digital, Martin Flanagan's new book "The Art of Pollination" is proof that there is an "obstinate force for good" in our world, and her name is Jane Tewson. This may be just the right book to be giving to friends and family right at this moment in time... Hardie Grant Books The Sydney Morning Herald
