12.01.2022 Hi Guys while you are all sitting around waiting for the rain to stop how about going on to the Speed on Tweed Facebook page and liking it. We need 18 more to get it up to 2000 followers our Facebook page is a statement. Who wants Speed on Twee d back? It is owned by our Community and all profit go back it the Community. This will happen through a Events fund to help other events in the area and the Banana Festival is high on our list.

09.01.2022 Hi to all our 1707 Facebook followers. As you all know it has been 10 years since Speed on Tweed graced the Racing industry and the local Murwillumbah communit...y. This start to revive SOT started in February 2018. There was a survey done in the local community of Murwillumbah to test for community support. This was done by placing expression of interest forms out in our local shops. We asked our community to sign if they wanted SOT back. We got an over whelming 3,500 signatures. After this we conducted a survey of our local business community, We asked them, if we could get SOT back how much would they support in way of sponsorship, this survey was very short and there were only about 25 businesses sent forms , they pledged $50,000 and we stopped knowing there will be enough support. We went on to organise many meetings with our services clubs, Business Chamber, and finally our local council. All of the above gave us the encouragement to move forward to revive SOT. Yes it has been a slow process but step by step. We are now confident enough to announce the event is back in October 2020. The exact date is still being negotiated. Our Facebook page is another way of conducting a survey. This one for the support from the Car Racing industry so we continuously send out friends requests on Facebook where ever we can. If you have not hit the like button please do or if you can share our page please do. Along with this we have contacted those we have contact details for and asked them to send in a EOI if they would like to participate in the event. There are many we have no details for so this is another call out. To date there is about 160 EOI in our files.
