25.01.2022 Good morning Saints! Join us in some simple exercises to keep us healthy during this lockdown period! Introducing one of our church members, @denzelfacun! Hi saints, Im Denzel. I study Sport Science at Deakin Uni and Im here to show some exercises and give some health advice for IHeart church!... Todays exercise is an upper back exercise called a YTWL. Strengthening your upper back is important to prevent bad posture, especially if you work at a desk for long periods of time. To do a YTWL, stand up, then with your arms form a Y, T, W and L, while squeezing your upper back as hard as you can and pulling your shoulder blades down. Try to do 10 YTWLs every morning to start your day. Watch the video. Enjoy the exercise. Stay safe and God bless!

22.01.2022 Hi saints, Todays exercise is the overhead dumbbell press. This exercise strengthens the shoulders. If you do not have dumbbells you can use small items such as 2 filled water bottles. Stand and hold the dumbbells next to your head. While keeping your core tight, push the dumbbells over your head, then slowly control them back down. Breathe out on the way up and breathe in on the way down.... Start with 3 sets of 10-16 then increase the reps, sets or weight as you become stronger. Stay safe and God bless.

20.01.2022 Hi saints, Todays exercise is the Romanian Deadlift (RDL). This strengthens the hamstrings (muscles at the back of the thighs). To perform the RDL:... 1. Stand with your feet hip width apart. 2. Keep your core tight and squeeze your shoulder blades back. This is really important to keep a neutral spine! 3. Break at the hips as you drag the dumbbells down your leg down to your shins. Let the knees bend naturally (dont actively try to bend them as this is squatting). 4. Come back up and squeeze your glutes at the top Start with 10-16 reps for 3 sets, then increase the weight/reps/sets as you get stronger. Use light cans of baked beans if you don't have weights. Start small as we don't want any injuries LOL. Enjoy. Stay safe. God bless Denzel

09.01.2022 Hi saints, Todays exercise is a push-up. Keep your core tight and make sure to not have your elbows flared to the side as this is bad for your shoulders. Have your elbows within 45 degrees of your torso. If a normal push-up is too hard, you can do push-ups on a ledge, on your knees or against a wall. 06.01.2022 Hi saints, Denzel here. Todays exercise is a Squat, which strengthens the lower body. ... Stand up with feet about hip width apart or slightly wider, with a chair behind you. While keeping your back straight, break from the hips and bend your knees making sure they go over your toes. Make sure your knees do not go inward! Then come back up and squeeze your glutes at the top. If you are new, first try to start with 10 repetitions for 3 sets, on 3 days a week. Once they become easier, you can increase the amount. 04.01.2022 Last week on the 15th of January 2021, we decided to take our service outdoors for a picnic at Doug Denyer Reserve! It was an afternoon filled with fun games, yummy food and great fellowship!

02.01.2022 Hi saints, Todays exercise is a calf raise. Strengthening calf muscles are important as they are needed for walking, running climbing upstairs, and for balance.... To do calf raises simply stand, go up onto the balls of your feet, then go slow on the way down. To increase difficulty, calf raises can be done on one leg, or with the front of the feet over a ledge. For starters, do 3 sets of 10 calf raises, then later increase the number as you feel your calf muscles get stronger. Stay safe and God bless. Denzel.
