To be good in any activity (music, sport... not just driving) the skill required is best developed when you have to work it yourself and not depend on a system in the background to think and decide for you. ... In driving, this essential skill is best developed with a professional trainer in a manual vehicle. You have the freedom to learn the skills required without the risk of anything going wrong, thus building confidence and fluency. This results in you ultimately driving an Auto (most people end up buying an Auto car anyway) but THINKING manual. You now have the skills to be a good driver. One who is always in control and never takes anything for granted. And... no one said you had to own a Manual. Just learn the complete skillset of driving in one. 12.01.2022 Had a run in with another driver today who was trying to overtake me at the merge. I was the vehicle ahead at the merge point. Took a look in the mirror and she was using her phone to take a photo of my car. So I thought I'd better pull in and park. Clearly she wasn't happy and I thought I'd clarify what I did. The following ensued... she was angry and started shouting. ... 1. She went off accusing me of not knowing how to merge (?). 2. She informed me that this isn't India. Don't know what that has to do with the merge. 3. She told me she's taken my number down and had taken my photograph. 4. She wasn't listening. Merging isn't difficult at all. The car ahead goes first. Simple. Some courtesy and patience makes it all pleasant. To retaliate and make racial statements just isn't right. I wonder if she does it to all drivers or did she pick on me because it was a driving school car. Australia has no place for racists. Any disagreement can be settled so easily as adults with a simple discussion. Anyway, life goes on. Takes all sorts to make the world go round.

05.01.2022 The Driving Lesson Is a driving lesson just "a driving lesson"? Not when it's part of a Lesson Plan.... Any Professional Driver Trainer (and there are only a few of us in Perth) will have a Lesson Plan. It is structured, purpose built and has proven results. Progress is monitored, problems are identified and as always, the Professional gets the job done, usually with top end results. By the way, if a Lesson Plan is based on passing the Assessment, it's time to shop around for another Driver Trainer. Problem is when we get requests to "do a few lessons at the start" and "see you just before the test". As a result, I have seen so many learners stress out, break down and end up being high risk trying to "pass a test" rather than be a good driver. Parents need to understand that learning to drive in today's environment is not the same as before. Acquiring a life saving skill doesn't just happen in a few lessons. Statements like "Ï just took 2 lessons and I passed" creates pressure and can be demeaning to today's learner. Driving is then taken as a chore rather than fun and pleasure. No one likes chores. There is a solution. The Professional will work with you and tune the lessons to your budget and the Learner's ability. As a parent, you will be playing an active part in a structured manner thus making sure your young one stays safe on the roads. And... when you get Advanced Driver Training at Learner Rates, now that just raises the bar. Only a handful of us provide such training to learners in Perth. Driving is one activity we undertake on a daily basis that has the potential to kill or maim us. It's time we took driving seriously.
