25.01.2022 If you visit the show today, come and say hi.

25.01.2022 Last to leave the house, and probably the hardest for me as I could happily have kept this puppy was Little Man, now known as Hugh. Ildanach Professor X. He reminds me so much of Aretha from my first litter in these photos.

25.01.2022 Happy second birthday to our Scream and Cinna kids. I love getting updates, seeing the wonderful dogs they are maturing into and how loved they are.

24.01.2022 I love seeing my memories at this time of year - full of beautiful puppy photos. A pile of puppies from our first litter and a clever Benny learning to learn from our last litter.

21.01.2022 Happy first birthday to our "littlest" guys - Elphie, Evie, Casper, Benny and Hugh. I am away this week so Elphie had to endure an early 1st birthday photoshoot. From this to this in 1 year.

20.01.2022 Although the puppies aren't fully vaccinated yet, it is possible to continue their socialisation with a bit of creative thinking ong. Today was a trip to Bunnings, staying safely in the trolley. So many sights, sounds and smells to take in and Elphie thoroughly enjoyed herself. Especially the many cuddles! More in comments as apparently I can't add multiple on a page.

18.01.2022 This has been written by the breeder of our grand old lady Jazz. Please, please ensure you are purchasing puppies from health tested parents. Health testing is not a vet check. If you ask a breeder are the puppies health tested?" you need to also ask them what tests were conducted and for evidence of the results. If they can not show you DNA test results, please for your own sake walk away. TNS is 100% preventable with DNA testing and using these results to plan matings - no ...one should need to go through this heart ache. Likewise for CL and a range of other genetic conditions. Many Australian breeders use Orivet for their testing, you should be looking for breeders who can provide results for the parents for conditions listed in the current breed profile. https://www.orivet.com//canine-full-breed-profile/border-c With the difficulty in sourcing responsibly bred puppies, I worry stories like this will become more common. You want your new puppy to be a healthy, happy family member for years to come so please be prepared this may mean a wait for the right family member.

17.01.2022 If anyone is currently looking out for a new companion. A friend of ours has this lovely little guy available.

12.01.2022 Introducing Elphie (formerly Dot), named after Elphebar the Wicked Witch of the West in Wicked. Elphie will stay here and hopefully one day bring us the next generation. We are looking forward to trying a range of dog sports and seeing just what she likes best. Ildanach Alderaan Princess.

12.01.2022 Please note: we have no litters planned this year. We recommend you contact the ANKC association in your state eg DogsSA, DogsVic, DogsNSW etc for contact details of registered breeders or alternately the breed club in your state (if there is one). Recently we have received an influx of puppy enquiries. For many people now seems like a great time to get a puppy as everyone is at home. Please remember though a dog is for 12 to 15 years -- will the time still be right when ever...ything goes back to normal in 3 to 6 months time? Will a puppy who by that stage is a cheeky adolescent still fit into your lifestyle? If the answer is yes, please ensure that while you are home as well as doing all the wonderful fun puppy training and socialisation that you also prepare your puppy for how life will be. The same applies to adult dogs who suddenly find their routine turned upside down. This post from Bondi Behaviourist shares some ideas on managing through this time and helping to avoid issues when everyone returns to work and school.

12.01.2022 We love getting puppy updates! Even when the "puppy" is 9 years old. This is Jack, the first born from our first litter. His dad is away so he is keeping busy helping around the home.

11.01.2022 If anyone is currently looking for a male puppy, Waveney Border Collies have a beautiful baby boy looking for his new family. I have had the pleasure of meeting this litter a couple of times and they are lovely, happy, outgoing puppies. For information and to contact Jacquie, see the following https://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/member.asp?name=WAVENEY

10.01.2022 This morning we said good bye to Mr Full Collar, name also pending. It sounds like he already has a full work roster as he gets to spend time between 2 vet clinics where his Mum and Dad work. Ildanach Obi Wan Kenobi.

09.01.2022 What a big weekend it has been as we farewelled our third litter. Once again thanks go to Kelly Gill of Kerodan Border Collies and Scream's owner Sarah for kindly allowing us to use the handsome Scream (Kerodan Man of Action). He certainly put his stamp on his babies! I couldn't resist a photoshoot of the 3 "Mini Screams" before they left today. This litter has been an absolute delight and reports so far are that puppies are adjusting really well and taking everything in their stride. I will make separate posts for each pup with their pedigree name and farewell photos.

09.01.2022 First puppy to leave the house was Stripe. Stripe has headed to Victoria and will have a great time with her new mum at agility. Stripe's pet name is pending but her pedigree name is Ildanach Arrow of Everdeen.

08.01.2022 If you are at the Pet Expo, come and say Hi to Jazz and I at the Herding Dog Club stand.

07.01.2022 Looking for a dog or looking for something to do with your dog? This will be a great day with lots of dog sports to see and dogs to pat. Come along and say hello. We will most likely be found at the Herding Dog Club of SA stand.

07.01.2022 This is a gorgeous boy who will make a family very happy. I had the fun of meeting, playing with and photographing this beautiful boy and his litter mates last week. Temperaments of the whole litter were fantastic - new people in a new environment and nothing phased them.

05.01.2022 Updated: Benny has a potential home coming to meet him on the weekend, should that not work out we will update this post. Thank you everyone for the interest and shares in our sweet, lovable boy. Meet Benny. Sadly, Benny came back to us as his first home wasn’t the right fit. Benny is a sensitive soul who will best suit a quiet home with experienced owners who can continue to build his confidence. He takes cues from adult dogs well so a home that also has a calm, confident a...dult dog would be an advantage for Benny. He takes time to get to know you, but once he does his favourite place to be is with his person. Benny responds well to positive reinforcement training, sleeps overnight in his crate and has been doing well with house training. At only 12 weeks old, he is still a young puppy who will require training and guidance to grow into a sensible adult. If you feel you could offer Benny the home that he needs, please contact me via messenger or email ([email protected]) for further information. Please note: This is not a first in best dressed. The right home for Benny is important and we will be selective in his placement. Price on application.

03.01.2022 How to have happy border collies - a forest run and herding in one day. The old girl Jazz had a great time working the ducks and even managed to get them around a course. And Elphie had her first go out in the paddock with the sheep and while it was a bit rough it was a pretty good first effort out of the yards.

03.01.2022 Second puppy to leave the house was Splotch, now known as Casper - Ildanach Ghost Rider.

03.01.2022 I am giving this post by a friend of ours a share. I have also received a few enquiries lately looking for later in the year. Normally I love that people are so organised and prepared and not making impulse decisions. however, if you are thinking now towards the end of this year please be aware there will be a shortage of quality, well bred puppies from responsible breeders. There are quite a few litters available now or over the next month or 2. Availability will then drop for 3 or 4 months so that breeders are not leaving baby puppies or pregnant bitches at home while they travel.

01.01.2022 As my latest litter grow up and start to move from puppy hood to adolescence, there are some great points to remember in this article. So often people get lulled into a false sense of security with their "perfect" baby puppy, and then things suddenly change. Managing the adolescent period well makes such a difference to the adult dog you have in the end.
