23.01.2022 Views from on the ground at Ilford.

23.01.2022 Now that there is something to celebrate!

22.01.2022 The Rylstone Community Health Nurses will be at the Ilford Fire Shed from 3pm this Thursday 9th Jan providing free health checks. We are here to support the community any way we can, so please stop by, even just to chat.

22.01.2022 Abundant spring flowers along Ilford Hall Road - sections of the roadside are recorded as high value native vegetation by the local council. Really worth a stroll to see just how amazingly the bush has bounced back since the drought.

22.01.2022 Breakfast at Ilford Hall - bacon, eggs. Firies morning meeting while vehicles are cleaned and fueled ready for a big day ahead tamping down and putting out that fire.

18.01.2022 Wild outside, calm inside. Wild wind and meatloaf. We thought things had settled down but then the wind pickedup.

17.01.2022 Help put our locals get out of the red into the black.

15.01.2022 Ilford Hall is once again doing what it was built to do by locals more than half a century ago. Providing relief and focus to a community under pressure. With the Palmers Oaky Fire raging on nearby Cherry Tree Hill, Ilford-Running Stream Bush Fire Brigade is using the hall to provide food and respite to front line Firies and our community. Like the Gospers Mt, Kerry Ridge and Nullo Mt fires which have burning out of control for months now the Palmers Oaky Fire is proving incredibly difficult to subdue. This is going to be a long haul. Thank you to all the selfless individuals in Brigades that have come from far away to help.

13.01.2022 Counting the sleeps.

10.01.2022 Wondering how you can help? The most direct way to assist the RFScatering corp is by donating gift cards from either Woolies, Coles or IGA Kandos so provisions can be purchased as needed. If you are in the district you can help physically at the hall by joining the roster. There are 2 daily food service shifts 6 to 8.30AM or 4.30 to 8ish PM. At Ilford Hall, we are caustiously optimistic that the pressure is easing off locally with the Palmers Oaky fire being surpressed. However, Gospers and Nullo are still raging so support should ramp up out of Rylstone RFS.

09.01.2022 A fabulous evening of food, wine, music and dancing at the Kandos Bush Dance. Music by Swamp Dawkins brought to you by Kandos Museum. Info & Tickets at... http://kandosmuseum.org.au http://visitmudgeeregion.com.au #bushdance #kandosmuseum #swampdawkins #visitmudgee

08.01.2022 Ilford Hall, such a great community infrastructure built and maintained by locals. Vollunteers have been turning up at the hall for weeks now to support the local and visiting bush fire brigades with cooked breakfast, lunch packs and square meals at shift change in the evening. For locals suffering losses, evacuation or just wanting to stay in the community loop are welcome at anytime.

05.01.2022 Ilford Christmas Party. Saturday the 18th, our delayed Christmas Party at Ilford Hall. Start time is 5pm. BYO drinks. Water supplied. Spit roast. Music by Bushrock A de brief and relax after the past month or so.

04.01.2022 From good times with bbq'd fat lambs and lots of cake to dry times with no less Ilford Bush dance has marked the arrival of Spring over Cherry Tree Hill. Thanks for the music that got us up on the dance floor - Stringy Bark Bush, the Drooping Thistles, Bush Rock and the Gang Gang Bands. Profit donated each year to charity via the Ilford Hall Trust. Sadly, there'll be no Labour Day Long weekend bush dance this year but keep your scoot boots handy - we have something up our sleeves for next April.

01.01.2022 Repost of list for donations from Running Stream local Fiona Sim. "To all the friends and family who have asked about making a donation to organisations helping bushfire affected people, animals etc, the organisations listed below are definitely providing help on the ground. If you or anyone you know wants help financially, here is a list for your consideration:... RFS (NSW Rural Fire Service) : https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volun/support-your-local-brigade (This is actually a volunteer organisation, but these are the firefighters on the front line, who have been fighting these fires for weeks, and in some cases, months) For wildlife WIRES: https://www.wires.org.au/ Animal Rescue Collective: https://rescuedpets.com.au/ (I don't know much about these people, but they did apparently just organise a large delivery of food to be dropped in Lithgow for kangaroos, wombats etc, so presumably they do good stuff with their donations!) For pets and livestock: RSPCA NSW (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals NSW): https://www.rspcansw.org.au/ Helping farmers with fodder: Rural Aid (Buy a Bale): https://www.buyabale.com.au/ (But I just noted that they're closed til 8 January!) 200 Bales: https://www.200bales.com/ (Similar to the above, but specifically set up for farmers in my region. Actually set up for drought relief, but now helping with fodder for farmers whose paddocks have been burnt out, and they have already delivered two semi-trailer loads of those big round bales for farmers right here. I noticed when down at the fire station/community hall this morning that only four of those bales are now left there, so all the others have been delivered to those who need them.)
