25.01.2022 How amazing is this colour!

24.01.2022 This photo shows the damage to the gazebo over the lake caused by a fallen limb off an adjacent tree This gazebo is closed off until we can repair the damage. Hopefully the timber damage will be fixed this week. We are having trouble sourcing the tiles (Wunderlich French modern) as they are a few decades old. So any suggestion of potential suppliers would be greatly appreciated. Also trying to source a roof tiler interested in restoring the roof.

24.01.2022 Unfortunately the Illawarra Rhododendron Gardens has been closed to the public . This decision had been made in consultation with National Parks and Wildlife and will be on going until the Covid 19 crisis has passed. Thank you all for your understanding.

21.01.2022 After more than 30 years, Vi has decided to retire as a volunteer at ths Rhododendrom Gardens next Saturday . It will be her birthday. We are so grateful for her hard work and dedication. She is a tireless worker and valuable member of our small team. She will be missed greatly but really deserves a rest!

17.01.2022 A lovely article about our gardens from Bush Walk The Gong.

17.01.2022 Great news! The Illawarra Rhododendron Gardens will reopen from Saturday 13th June. We would love some help to get us up and running again. If you have a spare hour or so to assist with sweeping, raking, cleaning furniture down, weeding, removing cobwebs, clearing bush tracks and general maintenance we would appreciate the help. Please give me a call on 0490 069 360.

16.01.2022 Its started! Magnolia Time! lots still in bud but over the next couple of weeks it'll be beautiful (If the winds stay away).

15.01.2022 A different way to appreciate the Gardens.

14.01.2022 What a shocking week for folk on the South Coast! So heartbreaking to see the devastation in our local communitiess. The Illawarra Rhododendron Gardens are experiencing challenging times as well and visitors may have noticed the drying of our water sources, including the lake and ponds. On a recent weekend some visitors left a tap running and it drained our water tank. With the volatile conditions and potential for danger for our visitors we have made the decision to close the park on hot and windy days. This decision has been made to protect our visitors and conserve our limited water supplies. Thanks for your continued support.

14.01.2022 This is a beautiful lemony colour. Gorgeous! Located at the far end of the lake

13.01.2022 And Rhodos have started too!

11.01.2022 Just beautiful!

11.01.2022 Beautiful deciduous Bright Orange Azalea. Just stunning!

10.01.2022 So a massive gumtree branch landed on our over lake gazebo. Smashed the tiles and caused a lot of damage. Very sad.

08.01.2022 Still some stunning blooms in the Gardens

08.01.2022 We are open! Many thanks to the wonderful folk who took the time to come up during the week to rake paths, weed gardens and clean the furniture. Now we just need the weather to be kind. Open Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.

03.01.2022 Spectacular autumn colour in winter. It is so red! The maples on the island in the lake are really showing off.

01.01.2022 Well the windy weather hasn't blown all the petals off the Magnolias.

01.01.2022 The Rhododendrons have started to bloom. Heaps in bud now. Hope we are open in the full bloom season (August onward). Luckily volunteers are still able to work within the park so we are trying to get on top of maintenance, weeding and planting.
