22.01.2022 Elouera Stage 4 have continued their exploration of orchestral instruments with the Brass Section. Brass instruments make their sound by the player "buzzing" their lips into a mouthpiece. The sound then travels along a metal tube that ends with a bell, to make a bright sound. Brass instrument playing requires a strong lip and controlled airflow. Mr Wassink

The subject selection process this year is online due to COVID restrictions, as we are unable to hold a subject selection information evening for students and their parents. To ensure that you receive all necessary information and have the opportunity to discuss your childs selection, all necessary information is on th...e school website under Learning at our school and then subject selection. For students, it is important to choose the subjects that they will enjoy and in which they believe they will be successful; Seek advice from teachers if you are not sure about any subject; It is important to choose your own subjects, not the ones that your friends might want you to do; Choose carefully as opportunity to change Electives in Year 9 is very limited. Junior Courses do not generally influence subject choices in Years 11 and 12, but some courses do provide helpful background knowledge. 10.01.2022 Year 9 have been drawing and painting still-life objects that will develop into a major canvas paintings. They have been utilising colour theory and a range of techniques based on their study of Modern painters from the major art movements of the 20th century. Some of these include stippling or pointillism, broken colour and rough cross hatching.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to the 7 Year 12 Visual Arts students who successfully completed and submitted their HSC Body of Work for their 1 unit practical component of their exam yesterday. We are very proud of their efforts under the trying conditions of 2020. They submitted drawings, paintings,photographs, mono prints, collages and sculptures that addressed a wide range of global and personal concepts. Well done everyone.
