25.01.2022 Meet the fabulous Mrs Meg Story, our Deputy Principal of Secondary This is her first year in this role, and what a year to start! Despite the craziness of 2020, she has enjoyed learning about the bigger picture of what makes a school work. Hear about why she loves working at ICS: It's great to be part of a workplace where my faith is intrinsically woven into my days. But let's be real - this can also also be challenging and humbling! I am reminded of Proverbs 27:17 'as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another'. Working in a Christian community means we take this seriously. We can encourage each other each day to be more like Jesus and ask for forgiveness when we don't get it right. We are super thankful for you Mrs Story!

24.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago, three of our students sat the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO). It is a high-level mathematical problem-solving paper designed to challenge even the brightest of minds. Technology allowed Mrs Brown to supervise from her office even though one student was in Perth! Congratulations to Jayden, Harley and Tom - you have shown true stamina and we wish you well.

24.01.2022 Throwback Thursday! A collection of crazy and sweet moments from our class of '96.

23.01.2022 We asked our Kindy teachers what tips they would give to parents to help their children start school well. Their number one tip was to TALK! Talking together about everything helps your child practise the listening skills they will need in the classroom. Grab your own copy of our Top 5 tips for Kindergarten readiness! 22.01.2022 Meet Hannah King, the director of after school care (Fun Club) at ICS! Hannah has a passion to see kids grow and learn in a Christian environment. She grew up doing children’s ministry and received a Cert IV in ministry leadership through an internship with her church. She is currently doing her Diploma in Early Childhood. Hannah has created Fun Club to be a place where kids can be themselves and build on their personal interests, all while having fun! 21.01.2022 Some recent special moments. Last week, Kindergarten went to visit their Year 12 buddies for the last time. After lots of smiles and waving, photos with their buddies, and catching up with what everyone has been learning, the Kindy kids gave some advice to Year 12, which included: have fun, get a job and stay well! They also prayed for Year 12, which they do regularly. Mrs Beavan also delivered some letters to the students they had actually written to their future selves way back in Year 5!

20.01.2022 Congratulations to our Tournament of Minds (ToMS) team for winning the South Coast ToMS competition! A week ago, our ToMS team submitted their video for judging. Well done guys! Check out the video they submitted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg9QFVUjDIY&t=33s

16.01.2022 Meet Jo Fahey, our Deputy Principal Junior School! Mrs Fahey has been teaching infants here at ICS since 2003. She believes it’s the early years that inform so much of what the children will grow to know and understand about God, the world around them and themselves. She considers it such a privilege to be a part of this season with them. Mrs Fahey says about her role here at ICS, It has allowed me to go back to what I love, being amongst the younger members of our school community and helping shape and nurture them. They really do grow right before your eyes. Our K-6 students are earnest, curious and fun, and I am constantly delighted by their observations, their growing maturity, and general zest for school life". Thanks for your love and passion for the work you do Mrs Fahey

15.01.2022 Prep is an integral part of our school community. Each day they visit the Junior Library where they can borrow a book and have a story with Mrs Fahey or Mrs Weeks. What a great way to prepare for school!

13.01.2022 This week our Year 10 Biblical Studies students stretched their imaginative muscles in the nitty gritty of how our worldview impacts real life problems. Each student adopted a worldview that we have studied in class (modernist, post-modernist, humanist and Christian) and discussed how to treat the poor, the ethics of capital punishment and how governments ought to spend their money. It gave the class great insight about how the lens we look through greatly impacts our decisions.

13.01.2022 Our Global Issues Students have done it again. After doing their qualifying booklets a few weeks ago, 5 GIPS teams have been invited to the Australian National Finals on the 16th of October. Only the top 15% of teams are invited and ALL of our teams placed first amongst the booklets they were marked against. This is an outstanding effort and we are very proud. Training started back in full swing this week.

13.01.2022 Wool4School is an annual student design competition that encourages budding fashion designers to show the nation what they’re made of. It’s open to all Australian school students from Years 7 to 12, and invites students to design an outfit using at least 70% wool. This year, the challenge was to design a garment or outfit inspired by flora and fauna, incorporating fibres that are gentle on the earth. Students from Year 11 Textiles and Design, Stage 5 Textiles Technology and Y...ear 7 and 8 Technology were encouraged to enter the competition. The quality and creativity of their submissions was amazing! Congratulations go to the following students for their noteworthy achievements: Helena Broeckmann NSW Finalist Junior Designer Category (Year 7 & 8), Johanna Newing NSW Finalist Junior Designer Category (Year 7 & 8), and Hannah Gerritsen NSW Finalist Senior Designer Category (Year 11) See more

12.01.2022 Meet our Head of Mathematics, Mrs Gabbi Gerritsen! Gabbi loves seeing students get excited about maths, especially when they realise the things they have learnt fall into place like pieces of a puzzle. She believes maths is more than just numbers - it's learning to solve problems creatively and taking risks to use strategies and see patterns. Gabbi loves working in the maths faculty, and says, We bring a broad range of skills and experiences to the classroom and inspire our students to thrive at a range of levels. Every day is exciting and every student is encouraged to do their best and grow in their understanding. It is awesome to study Mathematics in light of a sense of wonder at God's design in our world.

12.01.2022 Stage one focus groups are currently working through the unit of ‘fragile homes’. The students looked at the effect of bushfires on Australian animals and have tried to come up with solutions. Once they drafted a solution, they created a model to present to their peers. They came up with a mobile vet, animal sanctuary, and an animal utopia

They'll also find lollies, popcorn, party poppers, a personalised letter from our Principal, graduation cookies and - for the sentimental among us - tissues! Well done Year 12 - we know you're going to have a great night!
