25.01.2022 Sanding, staining and polishing up some old Cypress Pine. The walnut is always the most popular colour for staining floors. We use the Feast Watson Prooftint range. They have the most natural looking colours and work best with polyurethanes.

18.01.2022 Finishing up this Oak floor with a water based polyurethane. One of the many advantages of the water based is it does not yellow anywhere near as much as its solvent based counterpart. This means the floor will keep its light colour and won't change and darken over time. It is also less toxic and dries much faster.

18.01.2022 Just finished the last coat of water based polyurethane on this old Cypress floor in Figtree. We coat a lot of Cypress Pine floors in this product because the results are absolutely amazing!

17.01.2022 Here's a new floor we coated with a product called Bona Natural. It's basically the most matt finish available to give timber a more raw look.

13.01.2022 Just finishing off this hardwood deck with Sikkens Australia Cetol Deck. Unfortunately there won't be any Australia Day celebrations on it this year but once it's fully cured it will have long life with plenty of use for years to come.

11.01.2022 We are always busy during the warmer part of the year sanding timber decks. One of my favourite products to use is Sikkens HLS Deck as it lasts longer than traditional decking oils and leaves a protective layer over the top of the timber. Goes so well on Merbau as you can see here.

01.01.2022 Did you know that Cypress Pine is one of the most common timbers used for floors in the Illawarra. Most houses built between the 1930's and 1980's have Cypress installed for the flooring. One of the main advantages of its use is the resistance to termites as they do not like it and will not eat away at it. This central Wollongong unit was built around the 1950's and has now got a water based polyurethane finish that has given it a new lease on life.
