22.01.2022 2020 MCR Junior Competition Delayed Start Due to an influx of late expressions of interest the 2020 Junior Competition will now begin on Wednesday 21st of Oc...tober. In saying that registered players are still invited to attend Wollongong Touch on Wednesday October 14 during their age group time slot to participate in a skills session run by WTA members. Don’t stress if you haven’t registered yet!! 22.01.2022 UPDATE to competition start date. Unfortunately the NSW government has made some changes to attendance rules for community sports for this week only which would essentially mean were only allowed 1 parent and essential personnel at our Junior games. The Board of Management have made the decision to postpone the start of our competition for 1 week. This includes all Bendigo Bank IDRL Mini, Mod, Blues Tag games as well as the Bendigo Bank IDRL & SC Group 7 Merged Competition g...ames. The BOM & Staff of IDRL are very disappointed but felt this was the safest outcome for all. The BOM will convene next week to confirm how all competitions may progress from next weekend and if draws require any adjustment given the time frame we have outlined.

14.01.2022 If your club or team has withdrawn from 2020 junior league competitions, you can request a permit to play with another Illawarra club who is participating in 2020. A permit is essentially a short term loan, after which the player returns to his/her original club which then have the right to try and retain the player in 2021. If any player has been advised this is not the case by their club, this is incorrect and supported by NSWRL Helensburgh JRLFC... 13.01.2022 WE ARE BACK! At a meeting of the Board of Management tonight, the board confirmed a return to all senior and junior competitions in Illawarra as of Sat 25 July, following an update from NSWRL this afternoon. Senior venues can have up to 500 attendees based in 4 square metres per person (including players and officials) under controls that will be implemented to manage attendance numbers.... As for junior competitions, the message still remains one parent per child in order to keep attendance numbers at a minimum in order to best manage compliance with NSWRL COVID-19 protocols. Draws for this weekend will be sent to clubs as early as possible tomorrow.

07.01.2022 $27.3 MILLION TO SUPPORT LOCAL SPORT RETURN! With community sport and recreation activities returning as COVID-19 restrictions ease, the NSW Government today an...nounced a Community Sport Recovery Package to help the sector get back on its feet. The $27.3 million recovery package includes financial support and assistance for sport and recreation organisations across NSW. A one-off grant of up to $1,000 will be provided to close to 12,500 local sporting clubs and associations across the State to assist clubs for when sport resumes on 1 July. 06.01.2022 The Illawarra District RLFC would like to invite expressions of interest to coach the Illawarra Steelers Junior Representative teams. Specifically we are seekin...g Harold Matts and SG Ball male team coaches for the 2021 Season. Applicants must have obtained the ‘Senior Club Coach qualification and experience with Representative or Senior teams would be an advantage. Player Trials will commence in September 2020 and the Season runs through until the end of April 2021. The teams train 3 nights each week and play on weekends. Lots of games had to be moved so an amended draw has been issued to clubs so PLEASE check with your club on any changes to your game time and venue.
